According to the Ministry of Health 's Covid-19 prevention and control bulletin, there were 1,980 new cases on May 19th.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Vietnam has recorded 11,600,569 cases, ranking 13th out of 231 countries and territories. In terms of the number of cases per million people, Vietnam ranks 120th out of 231 countries and territories (an average of 117,232 cases per million people).

Number of recovered patients: Patients declared recovered today: 442 cases; total number of recovered cases: 10,634,615 cases.

The number of patients currently receiving oxygen is 88; the number of deaths: There were no deaths this past week; the total number of deaths due to Covid-19 in Vietnam to date is 43,201, accounting for 0.4% of the total number of infections.

The total number of deaths ranks 26th out of 231 territories, and the number of deaths per million population ranks 141st out of 231 countries and territories worldwide . Compared to Asia, the total number of deaths ranks 7th out of 50 (3rd in ASEAN), and the number of deaths per million population ranks 29th out of 50 Asian countries and territories (5th in ASEAN).

On May 18th, 2,471 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine were administered. Thus, the total number of vaccine doses administered is 266,345,927, including: 223,698,458 doses for individuals aged 18 and over: 70,908,891 doses of the first dose; 68,453,385 doses of the second dose; 14,343,935 doses of the booster dose; 52,125,189 doses of the first booster dose; and 17,867,058 doses of the second booster dose. 23,965,543 doses for children aged 12-17: 9,130,889 doses of the first dose; and 9,021,366 doses of the second dose. The first booster dose was 5,813,288 doses. The total number of doses for children aged 5-11 years is 18,681,926 doses: 10,222,007 doses for the first dose; and 8,459,919 doses for the second dose.
