The "Recreating the World with French" program selects 11th-grade students studying French in Ho Chi Minh City, including Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School, and Marie Curie High School, to participate through interviews.
Nine students from the aforementioned schools, along with nine students from Laos and nine from Cambodia, will participate in three study tours and exchange programs in three countries on the topic of sustainable development.
Twenty-seven students will have the opportunity to visit Vientiane, the capital of Laos, for four days at the end of May, followed by four days in Ho Chi Minh City at the beginning of June, and then Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia (the itinerary there is still being planned). All expenses will be covered by the organizers.
Throughout the program, students will participate in numerous interactive workshops and learn about collaborative projects, encouraging them to develop innovative solutions to address environmental issues. They will learn how to analyze environmental problems and design effective action strategies to take home.
Through collaborative workshops, students will explore the richness of cultural diversity while focusing on a common goal: addressing global environmental challenges.
Anne-Laure Vincent, the French language cooperation commissioner at the French Institute in Ho Chi Minh City, said that in addition to promoting French language learning and understanding the environment, the program also aims to promote the creative and academic aspects of the French language, beyond the romantic side that people often see.
Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online , Diem Hanh from Marie Curie School said she was very excited to interact with her Laotian and Cambodian friends. Although her French is not very fluent, she was chosen because she showed her love for the language.
