High income job opportunities for mountain workers

DNO - To promote the effectiveness of labor export in mountainous areas, the Department of Home Affairs of Da Nang city and localities and enterprises have stepped up mobilization and recruitment, opening up high-income job opportunities for people.

Seasonal labor efficiency in Korea

From August 1, 2022, when the "Cooperation Agreement on sending and receiving seasonal workers for agricultural work in Hamyang District, Gyeongsangnam Province, Korea" was signed, the People's Committee of Nam Tra My District (old) stepped up propaganda and labor recruitment consulting.

Over the past 3 years, the total number of seasonal workers in Korea is 173 people, 85 people since the beginning of the year.

From July 1, 2025, when there is no longer a district-level administrative unit, Nam Tra My commune is assigned by the People's Committee of Da Nang city to preside over and connect the communes: Tra Linh, Tra Tap, Tra Van and Tra Leng to continue sending workers to work seasonally in Korea.

Mr. Vo Nhu Son Tra, Vice Chairman of Nam Tra My Commune People's Committee, said that local labor management officials regularly contact to grasp information about work, living conditions, and aspirations of workers in Korea. They coordinate with labor management officials of Hamyang district to properly implement the agreement between the two localities, ensuring the rights of workers.

Thanks to that, in the past 3 years, workers participating in the program have not had the idea of ​​running away or residing illegally in Korea.

“Since the beginning of the year, Nam Tra My commune has had 27 workers working seasonally in Korea. This is an economic development model that brings practical results, contributing to job creation and sustainable poverty reduction.

After 5-8 months of working abroad, when the contract ends and workers return home, they can earn 150-240 million VND/person. In addition, by acquiring advanced scientific and technical knowledge in Korea, workers can apply it to local farming and livestock farming practices," said Mr. Tra.

Ensure the best conditions for workers

Mr. Jin Byung Young, Hamyang District Chief, said that workers going to Korea are very hard-working, disciplined and highly responsible. Hamyang District is committed to maintaining the cooperation program and increasing support for workers from 5 communes: Nam Tra My, Tra Linh, Tra Tap, Tra Van and Tra Leng to work seasonally in Korea.

Recently, Hamyang district built an additional dormitory to welcome seasonal workers, ensuring the best living conditions for a large number of workers coming to work in the near future.

Boost recruitment

In 2025, Da Nang aims to send 2,300 workers abroad for temporary work. Recently, the city's Department of Home Affairs has coordinated with mountainous localities and businesses to organize labor consultation and recruitment.

Potential markets such as Japan and Korea with diverse recruitment fields open up many options for young people in mountainous areas in their journey to find high-income jobs.

Mr. Arat Nhuoc (Acap village, Tay Giang commune) said that he had a short-term labor trip to Korea. The job was agricultural work, suitable for his ability, with a stable income.

“When Tay Giang commune organized a consultation on recruiting workers for export, I went to find out the needs of businesses to register. My wish is to go to Korea or Japan to do agriculture to accumulate capital, then return home to invest in the economy,” Nhuoc shared.

According to Ms. Do Thi Tuyet Ban, Deputy General Director of Giavi Vietnam Human Resources Company, along with recruitment, businesses focus on training and improving skills, especially foreign language skills and industrial style for workers in mountainous areas. This is a key factor for workers to feel secure at work and adapt quickly to the international environment.

“We focus on recruiting workers to work in high-tech agriculture in Japan. This will be a key source of labor, who can be recruited to continue working when they return home, because we are encouraging Japanese partners to invest in this field in Da Nang,” Ms. Ban informed.

Mr. Tran Hong Phong, Deputy General Director of Thuan An DMC Vietnam Joint Stock Company, said that when employees are recruited, the company will support registration and travel costs.

At the same time, arrange staff to support workers in carrying out procedures at the locality, company and the Immigration Department (Ministry of Public Security). Thereby, minimizing costs for workers in mountainous areas, ensuring a convenient labor export process.

According to Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs of Da Nang City Nguyen Qui Quy, the city continues to focus on vocational training and promote cooperation with high-income markets such as Japan, Korea, etc. Thereby, helping workers not only do well in their jobs when going abroad, but also start their own businesses when they return.
