Visiting Quang Tri these days, it's hard to recognize this as the land once engulfed in the flames of war, reduced to a desolate wasteland ravaged by bombs and bullets more than half a century ago.

Right where bomb craters piled upon bomb craters, houses sprang up close together amidst lush green trees. With the wisdom and determination of leaders and people throughout the ages, Quang Tri has powerfully revived from the devastation of war.

The resilient, courageous, and indomitable people in the resistance war against the US to save the country demonstrated diligence and creativity in labor, production, economic development, and building a new life.

Once a place where not a single tree, flower, or blade of grass could survive, the people of Quang Tri have transformed it into a green city, with clean, beautiful streets and lush lawns and trees.

Around the Quang Tri Citadel, which once endured 328,000 tons of bombs and bullets from the American enemy during the 81-day and 81-night battle to defend the citadel by our army and people, many new urban areas have sprung up, combining parks, green spaces, and commercial services.

So much blood was shed to bring peace to this land, transforming this "land of fire" into a green land of trees, fragrant rice fields, and development.

A truly poetic scene of Quang Tri, reminding everyone of Te Hanh's poem: " The sky remains a single shade of blue in Quang Tri / The clouds and mountains stretch to the horizon, without dividing it ."

Besides agriculture , Quang Tri has experienced strong industrial growth. Quang Tri is focusing on realizing three pillars of development, with the energy industry being the key sector creating breakthroughs; agriculture as the foundation; and services and tourism as the spearhead.

The province is also prioritizing investment in improving infrastructure, especially transportation infrastructure, to increase regional and inter-regional connectivity, making Quang Tri a center for goods transportation and logistics in the Central region.

According to the set objectives, Quang Tri strives to become a province with a high-middle level of development by 2025 and to be among the provinces with a relatively high level of development nationwide by 2030; keeping pace with the country in the era of national development and prosperity.
