After Doan Van Hau missed a penalty, Hanoi Police narrowly avoided conceding a goal and then came from behind to beat SLNA 2-1 in Round 9 of the V-League 2023.

Seven minutes after Van Hau's missed opportunity, CAHN unexpectedly conceded a goal. From an attack down the right wing, center-back Que Ngoc Hai delivered a perfect cross for Nguyen Trong Hoang to leap and head the ball into the net, opening the scoring.
Before the match, SLNA was considered the underdog due to a series of draws or losses, and had dropped close to the relegation zone. Therefore, their opening goal was like a cold shower for CAHN, who were full of momentum.
In the remaining minutes of the first half, the home team launched an all-out attack. They unleashed a total of 11 shots in the first 45 minutes, almost double that of their opponents. However, young goalkeeper Van Viet played brilliantly, making numerous saves for SLNA.

The victory helped CAHN climb to second place in the table with 18 points, one point behind leaders Thanh Hoa, but also having played one more match. In round 10 on May 30th, they will host Khanh Hoa .
