Da Nang Electricity Company strives to ensure power supply during the holidays of April 30 and May 1

This year, the April 30 and May 1 holidays last for 5 days. Based on load forecasts, weather and the operation of the power system, Da Nang Power Company Limited (PC Da Nang) has made a plan to ensure safe, reliable and stable power supply, ready to be on duty 24/7 to promptly handle arising situations, well serving political - social activities, national security and defense and the daily needs of people in Da Nang city.

PC Da Nang ensures power supply on the occasion of April 30 and May 1.

The city's load during the holiday period from April 30 to May 4, 2025 is expected to have a maximum capacity (Pmax) of about 590 MW, with a daily output of 10.8 million kWh. Da Nang Electricity Company will not carry out any work that causes interruption/reduction of electricity supply to customers from 0:00 on April 30, 2025 to 24:00 on May 4, 2025, except in cases of incident handling or special cases with instructions from competent authorities.

To be proactive in situations, the Company has worked with Power Transmission Company 2 and the Central Power System Control Center to plan electricity priority, ensuring continuous power supply for 220kV and 110kV transformer stations in the City during the holiday. The Company also directed its affiliated units to proactively review and prepare sufficient spare materials and equipment; arrange vehicles and personnel to operate 24/7 to be ready to respond to incidents.

Since the beginning of April 2025, the Company has carried out comprehensive inspections of the power grid, cleared corridors, tightened rudders, terminals, and handled contact points to prevent incidents due to overload or extreme weather. At the same time, it has directed units to install new LBS segments on the grid, replace poor quality insulation, clean hotlines on lines and at 110kV substations, increase night inspections, and apply modern technological equipment such as thermal cameras, PD inspections, etc. to improve monitoring efficiency and detect early risks of incidents.

In addition, the Company also requires its affiliated units, the High Voltage Grid Enterprise and functional departments to strengthen grid inspections, thoroughly handle defects, especially at transformer stations, 22kV and 110kV medium voltage lines, ensuring safe corridors and smooth operation of the control information system. The Information Technology Telecommunications and Dispatching Departments must strengthen inspections and handling to ensure stable operation of the Recloser system, LBS, transmission connection points and Control Center, and at the same time deploy inspections and maintenance of the SCADA system, telemetry equipment, protection relays, etc. to improve the availability and synchronization of the grid operation system.

Along with technical work, propaganda work on safe and economical use of electricity, fire and explosion prevention and prevention of violations of power grid corridors such as kite flying and tree cutting near power lines continues to be focused on through mass media channels, social networks, etc. Local power units strengthen coordination with local authorities to update information on political and cultural events taking place during the holidays, thereby developing appropriate power supply plans to avoid interruptions.
