Vietnam's largest robot creation contest will be held in Ninh Binh

The Vietnam Robot Creation Contest 2025 (Robocon Vietnam 2025) continues to affirm its position as the largest technical technology playground for engineering students nationwide, organized annually by Vietnam Television (VTV).

This is an environment to practice and test knowledge of mechanical design, control programming, electronics, automation and develop important soft skills for students.

Robocon is a competition initiated by the Asia- Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) in 2002 and has been maintained continuously until now. The theme and rules of the competition each year will be announced by the host country.

In 2025, the host country Mongolia will host the ABU Robocon competition with the theme "Robots competing in Basketball", promising to bring many new challenges, requiring creativity and high practical application ability from the competing teams.

At the press conference about Robocon Vietnam 2025 held on the morning of May 29, a representative of the Organizing Committee of the competition said that this year's competition is organized by VTV and the People's Committee of Ninh Binh province on a national scale.

Participating teams must go through the preliminary round, taking place on June 5 and 6, 2025 with 62 teams from 19 schools, to select the 32 best teams to enter the Final Round taking place from June 8-13, 2025 in Ninh Binh province. The champion team of Robocon Vietnam 2025 will represent the country to participate in the ABU Robocon 2025 competition in Mongolia.

According to the organizers, the new point of Robocon 2025 is the series of events "Robotics Connect - Connecting Creativity and Career Opportunities" including Robot Exhibition and Specialized Workshop. This is a forum connecting students, universities, businesses, technology experts and the community of Robotics enthusiasts.

The Robot Exhibition Booth within the framework of the Robocon 2025 Final Round will introduce outstanding products and technological solutions from competing teams, businesses and universities, creating opportunities for students to exchange, learn and gain practical experience.

Robotics Connect is a conference where experts, managers, business representatives and students discuss technology trends, career opportunities, and the development of high-quality human resources in the fields of Robotics, AI and automation.

Representative of the Organizing Committee, journalist Thu Ha - Head of the Special Topics and Science Department said: "Robocon is not only a playground for technical creativity but also an ideal practice environment, helping students develop their thinking, skills and professional qualities. This year's Basketball competition theme requires teams to make the most of their knowledge, creativity and team spirit. In particular, the Robotics Connect event series will expand opportunities for connection, cooperation and development for students, schools and businesses."

The organizers said that Vietnam Television will closely coordinate with the departments and agencies of Ninh Binh province to best prepare the facilities, competition conditions, and accommodation for the teams and guests. The matches and sideline activities will be broadcast live on VTV and digital platforms, making it easy for audiences nationwide to watch and cheer./.
