During September and October 2025, our country suffered consecutive natural disasters and serious storms and floods, including storms No. 8, No. 9, No. 10, No. 11 and storm No. 12, which brought heavy rain over a large area.
In the last days of October, the historic floods in the Central provinces have been causing heavy damage to the localities. The flooding situation is especially serious in the Hue city area, causing many localities to be submerged in floods. Local forces have organized rescue work for people with all available resources.
Assessing the prolonged and serious flood situation, on October 28, the Vietnam Maritime Administration and Waterways organized a working delegation to Hue city to coordinate with the city People's Committee to support flood response.

The working group supported life-saving equipment for communes in Hue city.
Locally, under the direction of Director Le Do Muoi, the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center has released national reserve goods to provide 100 life jackets and 6 specialized life rafts for rescue forces to communes and wards in Hue city, and 400 personal life buoys to flooded houses.
The locations receiving this support include: Hung Loc Commune: 25 lifebuoys and 10 life jackets; Loc An Commune: 25 lifebuoys, 10 life jackets and 1 life raft; Phu Loc Commune: 50 lifebuoys, 10 life jackets and 1 life raft; Chan May and Lang Co Communes: 50 lifebuoys, 10 life jackets; Defense Command of Region III: 60 life jackets; 250 lifebuoys, 2 life rafts.
The working group also organized a rescue team with the core being rescuers from the Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center and the Da Nang Maritime Port Authority with equipment such as rescue ropes, life jackets, rope guns, etc. to be ready to carry out rescue in difficult areas when requested by the locality.

In addition, the Vietnam Maritime Administration also prepares specialized vehicles such as search and rescue vessels and canoes on standby in river and coastal areas to be ready to respond to all types of accidents and incidents that may occur.
The Vietnam Maritime and Waterways Administration affirmed that it will continue to accompany functional forces and local authorities in supporting and relief activities for people, while maintaining permanent forces and means ready to respond promptly and effectively when natural disasters and incidents occur.
