Phu Quoc Special Zone recommends not to arbitrarily build in projects serving the APEC 2027 Conference

On the morning of July 25, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Quoc Special Zone Nguyen Le Quoc Toan informed that the People's Committee recommends that people do not arbitrarily build works, houses, architectural structures... on land plots that have been announced for planning key projects serving the APEC 2027 Summit Week to avoid unnecessary damage.

Mr. Toan said that the People's Committee of Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone has widely informed the people to advise against illegal construction in the area where projects for the APEC 2027 Summit Week will be implemented.

In the special economic zone, key projects and works are being prepared to serve the APEC 2027 Summit Week, such as: Duong Dong 2 Lake Investment Project, Cua Can Lake Investment Project, Suoi Lon Lake Resettlement Area, Cua Can Resettlement Area..., most of these projects have a great impact on households whose residential land has been recovered.

However, currently there is a situation where some households arbitrarily build houses and construct works on land with the purpose of receiving compensation, support and resettlement when the state reclaims land.

This behavior not only violates land laws but also causes property damage without compensation and potentially causes insecurity and disorder in site clearance work, affecting the overall progress of projects serving the APEC 2027 Summit Week.

The People's Committee of Phu Quoc Special Zone recommends that people do not arbitrarily build works, houses, architectural structures... on land that has been announced for the above-mentioned purposes. Along with that, it is necessary to study and research to understand clearly the regulations on compensation, support and resettlement of the Provincial People's Committee.

The People's Committee of Phu Quoc Special Zone assigned the Department of Economics , Infrastructure and Urban Areas to coordinate with relevant agencies, departments and branches to inspect and handle violations according to the law.

Any construction that violates the above regulations will not be counted, compensated, or considered for resettlement, and will be subject to administrative sanctions according to current laws.
