Congress of the Vietnam Association of Photographers in Quang Ninh Province

(NADS) - On the morning of December 7, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists in Quang Ninh province held the Congress for the 2024-2029 term.

Attending the Congress were journalist - artist Ho Sy Minh, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, Head of the Photography Criticism Theory Board, Editor-in-Chief of Photography and Life Magazine; artist Ha Huu Duc, member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, Director of the Vietnam Art Photography Archives and Exhibition Center; artist Nguyen Hoang Dieu, Head of the Organizing Committee of Member Emulation; Dr. Dao Huy Toan, Chairman of the Quang Ninh Province Literature and Arts Association.

Artist Ho Sy Minh, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Artists, delivered a speech directing the Congress.

Currently, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists in Quang Ninh province has 11 members, aged from 40 to over 80 years old, living in an area stretching from Dong Trieu to Cam Pha, making it very difficult to live and create. Along with the development of the traditional literature and art of the mining working class, Quang Ninh's artistic photography has also been constantly developing. During the past term, the Association has achieved many valuable achievements: Commendations from the Association of Collective Photographic Artists 02 times and 3 individuals. Regarding awards and exhibitions: 35 works won awards from the Regional level and above, including: National level: 1 Silver Medal, 5 Bronze Medals, 3 KK prizes; Regional level: 8 Gold Medals, 4 Silver Medals, 6 Bronze Medals and 8 KK prizes. 120 works exhibited from the regional level, including 33 works from the National level and 87 works from the Regional level. 5 consecutive years receiving the Team Award of the Red River Delta Regional Art Photography Festival.

Delegates voted to elect the new Executive Committee and delegates to attend the 10th Congress of the Vietnam Association of Fine Arts for the 2025-2030 term.

The Association also regularly coordinates with the Quang Ninh Literature and Arts Association and districts and cities in the province, successfully organizing many art photography competitions and exhibitions. In the two years 2023-2024, it successfully organized two Art Photography Festivals of Quang Ninh Photography Clubs, thereby integrating with seminars and training on expertise and art for photographers. From there, it discovered and "Passionately ignited" the passion for photographers, this is a source of succession and rejuvenation for the Quang Ninh photography team in the future. In the past term, 6 membership profiles were admitted to the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists.

The Congress of the Vietnam Photographic Association of Quang Ninh province has completed all the program content and elected the Executive Committee for the 2024-2029 term, including two photographers, Nguyen Hai Huy - Chairman and Duong Phuong Dai - Vice Chairman. The Congress also elected a Delegation of 4 outstanding photographers to attend the 10th National Congress of Vietnam Photographic Association , term 2025-2030.
