“The Tac Dat Newspaper will instruct farmers on how to make agriculture progress quickly. The guidance of the Tac Dat Newspaper is as precious as an Inch of Gold” - that was Uncle Ho's advice when naming the Tac Dat Newspaper, the predecessor of the Agriculture and Environment Newspaper.
At the time the Tac Dat Newspaper was born, only 3 months after the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, after 8 decades with many name changes to suit each period, the Agriculture and Environment Newspaper has now become a specialized press agency of a profession, and at the same time an important forum for speaking about agriculture, rural areas, resources and environment.
Speaking at the 80th Anniversary of the Agriculture and Environment Newspaper on the evening of December 4, Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Ngoc Thach affirmed that Uncle Ho's teachings are still deeply imprinted in the hearts of those working for the Agriculture and Environment Newspaper. It is an honor and a great mission that many generations have continued, bringing the Tac Dat Newspaper of the past to become the Agriculture and Environment Newspaper of today.
“Looking back and moving forward after 80 years, we have a strong belief in launching Vietnamese values that are refined and understood. We see the light ahead, shining from the value of Vietnamese fields, the value of Vietnamese land, the value of Vietnamese mountains and forests, the value of Vietnamese nature, the value of Vietnamese culture, the value of Vietnamese people,” Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thach shared.

At the ceremony, Mr. Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, assessed that Nong Nghiep and Moi Troi Newspaper possesses a special foundation that is rare in the Vietnamese press system.
According to Mr. Le Quoc Minh, the changes after the merger have expanded the scale, increased coverage and created conditions for the newspaper to "speak accurately and accurately" about the issues of the agricultural and environmental sectors - two fields that are under great pressure from climate change, the global agricultural market and the need for sustainable development.
Agriculture and Environment Newspaper currently has about 200 staff, reporters, editors and employees, with a system of 7 representative offices nationwide.
This network allows the editorial office to directly access growing areas, breeding areas, processing industrial zones and areas heavily affected by extreme weather, thereby creating a rich source of practical materials - a decisive factor in the quality of specialized journalism.
On behalf of the leaders of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment , Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien also sent congratulations to generations of cadres, reporters and editors of the Agriculture and Environment Newspaper on the occasion of the anniversary.
