On November 23 (local time), within the framework of a visit and working trip to the Kingdom of Sweden, a delegation from Ho Chi Minh City led by Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai visited officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Sweden.

Receiving the delegation from Ho Chi Minh City were comrade Tran Van Tuan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Sweden and officers and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Sweden.
Comrade Tran Van Tuan said that Sweden highly appreciates Vietnam's political stability, development potential demonstrated through Vietnam's economic growth in the context of the pandemic, and Vietnam's efforts to achieve green growth, sustainable development, digital transformation, and innovation in line with world trends.
He shared that in recent times, the Embassy has supported connecting many agricultural producers in Ho Chi Minh City with Swedish distributors; promoting the connection between Gothenburg port and Can Gio port to establish a direct shipping route between Vietnam and Sweden.
Ambassador Tran Van Tuan informed the delegation of Ho Chi Minh City about opportunities for the city's departments, districts and towns to learn, share experiences and cooperate in investment. |
To promote cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and Sweden, the Ambassador suggested that Ho Chi Minh City promote the establishment of a direct flight between Ho Chi Minh City and Sweden as soon as possible. He also suggested that Ho Chi Minh City should strengthen cooperation with Sweden in high-tech waste treatment, production of smart medical equipment, modernization of means of transport and 3D printing technology.
Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Tran Van Tuan and the Embassy staff for supporting the delegation during the preparation process and working time in Sweden, contributing significantly to the success of the trip.
Comrade Nguyen Ho Hai informed the Ambassador about the socio -economic situation of Ho Chi Minh City since the beginning of the year; at the same time, he said that Ho Chi Minh City has just been allowed by the National Assembly to implement Resolution 98 on piloting special and outstanding mechanisms and policies on investment, urban management, resources, environment, science and technology and priority industries. Accordingly, Ho Chi Minh City has been implementing many programs and development goals for the city in the coming time, including building a smart city, improving the quality of growth and economic competitiveness, linking economic growth with sustainable development, environmental protection; improving social welfare and quality of life. Ho Chi Minh City is also one of the leading localities in Vietnam in implementing Swedish cooperation, especially in the fields of innovation, start-ups, environmental protection, climate change response, and waste-to-energy treatment.
On this occasion, the delegation from Ho Chi Minh City visited Envac Company, a leading company in smart waste collection and renewable energy production in Sweden, as well as worked with the Environmental Protection Agency.
