(CLO) The Voice of Vietnam (VOV) has won the excellent award in the news report category of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) Awards 2024. The award ceremony was held on the evening of October 22 within the framework of the 2024 ABU General Assembly and related meetings, taking place in Istanbul, Turkey (local time).
The winning work, titled “The Way Home - Na's Story”, recounts the successful rescue of an Asian Black Bear in Vietnam after 20 years in captivity. The work was produced by a group of reporters and editors from the Foreign Affairs Department of the Voice of Vietnam - VOV5.

Previously, VOV delegates attending the 2024 ABU General Assembly also participated in a discussion on the role of journalists and VOV staff during the devastating storm No. 3 that hit northern Vietnam last September.
Nearly 300 delegates from many countries gathered in the Turkish capital Istanbul on October 22 (local time) to attend the official opening ceremony of the 61st ABU General Assembly.
The 2024 ABU General Assembly, themed "The Link between AI, Broadcasting and Society", will feature numerous workshops, conferences and professional activities on the future of communication and media, discussing how AI is creating major changes in the field of journalism and media, changing the way information is delivered and the way we interact with the public.
Currently, ABU has 240 members, which are radio and television agencies from 65 countries and regions around the world . As a long-standing member of ABU, Voice of Vietnam always participates in ABU activities in an active and responsible manner.
