Promoting the pioneering role of Vietnamese and Chinese media and press agencies

The meeting with reporters was attended by representatives of leaders of Chinese press management agencies and dozens of key press and media agencies, along with a team of Chinese reporters and scholars from central to local levels.

On April 28, in the solemn atmosphere of the whole country celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), while Vietnam and China are actively coordinating to implement activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange Year 2025, the Vietnamese Embassy in China organized a meeting with press reporters with the participation of representatives of Chinese press management agencies and dozens of key press and media agencies and a team of Chinese reporters and scholars from central to local levels.

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Thanh Binh proudly introduced the outstanding achievements in socio -economic development and foreign affairs of Vietnam after 40 years of implementing the renovation and opening up; as well as the key tasks of the Party and the country towards a new era, an era of national development, successfully implementing two strategic goals by 2030 and 2045.

Regarding the Vietnam-China relationship, Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh said that the relationship between the two Parties and countries has recently had strong, comprehensive and remarkable developments in many areas. The historic mutual visits of the top leaders of the two Parties and countries have added strong momentum to promote the healthy and stable development of the relationship between the two countries, in accordance with the development goals of each country and the common aspirations of the people of the two countries.

In 2024, bilateral trade will continue to reach a new peak, exceeding 200 billion USD. Vietnam has now become China's 4th largest trading partner in the world . China has risen to become the 3rd largest foreign investor in Vietnam, with a total registered capital of 4.732 billion USD. In addition, people-to-people exchanges, tourism and cultural cooperation between the two countries have been very vibrant.

Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh affirmed the significance and important results of the recent State visit to Vietnam by General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping. During the visit, the two sides' senior leaders had in-depth strategic exchanges, providing important orientations for the stable and healthy development of bilateral relations; and agreed on key directions, measures, and contents to promote cooperation areas in the coming time.

The visit has set a new milestone in the friendly neighborly relations, the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, and the community of shared future between Vietnam and China, which has strategic significance. The rich results achieved during the visit will create a solid foundation to promote comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, commensurate with the new level of bilateral relations.

Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh said that in the coming time, Vietnam and China will closely coordinate to effectively implement high-level common perceptions, promote cooperation in all fields, including maintaining regular exchanges of delegations and contacts at high and all levels; raising the level of substantive cooperation in key areas, creating many new "bright spots" of cooperation; enhancing people-to-people exchanges, consolidating a solid social foundation for the building of the Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future; maintaining close coordination, cooperation and mutual support in multilateral mechanisms and forums of which the two countries are members; coordinating to effectively manage land borders, better control and resolve disagreements, and jointly maintain peace and stability at sea.

Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh took the time to interact, discuss and answer some questions of interest to reporters and scholars about the situation in Vietnam and upcoming key implementations in promoting bilateral relations.

Affirming the important role of the media and press agencies of the two countries in consolidating a solid social foundation for bilateral relations, Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh hoped that in the coming time, the press of both sides will continue to be the core force, the pioneering bridge to convey good messages about the situation of each country as well as about the comprehensive friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and China, contributing to enhancing mutual understanding and respect, expanding mutually beneficial substantive cooperation, promoting the continued strong development of Vietnam-China relations, actively contributing to maintaining peace, stability in the region, the world and the cause of human progress.
