More than two years after breaking up with Kieu Minh Tuan, Cat Phuong unexpectedly revealed that she has found new happiness with a Vietnamese-American boyfriend.

The actress shared that her new boyfriend lives abroad. They have been dating for almost a year, and he is not involved in the arts. The actress said that because he is overseas, they haven't met in person yet and mainly communicate through text messages and video calls.
When she broke up with Kieu Minh Tuan two years ago, her boyfriend was there to encourage her and help her recover. In May 2022, at her 52nd birthday party, her boyfriend sent her a large bouquet of flowers, which surprised and touched the actress.
"Initially, I was hesitant to open my heart because I had experienced a lot of heartbreak in the past, but I was gradually moved by his sincerity. I decided to give myself a chance," the actress said.
She said that Bom – Cat Phuong's son from her previous marriage to actor Thai Hoa – supports her in her new relationship.
According to the actress from "Mother's Happiness," their relationship is quite unusual. Her boyfriend was once a fan who secretly followed and loved her for 16 years. Eight months after Cat Phuong and Kieu Minh Tuan broke up, he messaged her to check in. They chatted more frequently, and she gradually developed feelings for him.
"He admired and loved me, but didn't dare confess his feelings. At that time, knowing I was about to marry actor Thai Hoa, he finally agreed to get married and have children. However, the marriage was unhappy, so he divorced. Over the years, he has quietly followed my life."
Eight months after I broke up with Kieu Minh Tuan, he unexpectedly messaged me to check in. Looking back at some photos, I remembered who he was. We just talked, letting things happen naturally. Now, we've been getting to know each other for almost a year," she revealed.
Speaking about her boyfriend, Cat Phuong said he is a strong-willed person. Although she herself is quite strong, when talking to him, she feels small and protected.
"Even though he's far away, I don't feel like I'm lacking his attention. We're in a long-distance relationship, but there are no difficulties at all."

Cat Phuong was born in 1970 in Bac Lieu . In 1980, she moved to Ho Chi Minh City with her father to engage in trade, then enrolled in a theater school and began her acting career.
After her failed marriage with Thai Hoa, Cat Phuong began a relationship with actor Kieu Minh Tuan, who is 18 years younger than her. They dated for 12 years before announcing their separation on Valentine's Day (February 14th) in 2021.
