Speeding up the progress of Provincial Road 822B project connecting border areas, creating momentum for development

Provincial Road 822B, the section from DT825 connecting DT838 to the Ho Chi Minh trail, is currently being focused on by Tay Ninh province to accelerate construction progress, with the goal of completing the items according to the set schedule. When completed, the road will create many driving forces for the development of the border area.

On this route, the bridge over the Vam Co Dong River was completed in early January 2025.

According to the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, the DT822B project has a total length of 11.35km, invested in phase 1 according to grade IV road standards, 9m wide base, 7m road surface, site clearance according to planning 30m. The total investment is more than 918 billion VND; of which, the Central Government supports 300 billion VND, the rest from the provincial budget and other legally mobilized capital sources.

In 2025, the project was allocated capital of 210 billion VND, by mid-July, disbursement reached 94.53 billion VND, equivalent to 45.02%.

It is noted that the construction progress of the bid packages is being implemented simultaneously. Of which, the Vam Co Dong bridge, the largest item, constructed by the Hop Thanh - Bac Trung Nam Joint Venture since May 2023, has so far completed the bridge deck of 10/10 spans, completed the cantilever section, is constructing the guardrail and sanding the bridgehead road. The implementation value reached 272.6/322.2 billion VND, equivalent to 84.58%.

The section from Vam Co Dong bridge to DT838 and the Kenh 1 and Kenh 2 bridges was constructed by the Quang Hung - Hai Duong Joint Venture, starting from January 2025. Up to now, the box culvert at Km9+417 has been completed, unsuitable soil has been excavated for 3,504/4,126m long, sand has been gathered to reach 49,600/98,000m³, bored pile construction has reached 3/6 piles of Kenh 1 bridge and 1/8 piles of Kenh 2 bridge. The implementation value has reached 25.5/124.99 billion VND, equivalent to 20.4%.

The section from DT825 to Ho Chi Minh road, constructed by Saigon Traffic Construction Joint Stock Company, started in February 2025, has excavated 2,439/2,800m of unsuitable soil, the implementation value reached 0.95/49.57 billion VND (1.92%).

The section from Ho Chi Minh road to Vam Co Dong bridge, constructed by T&T Company, started in February 2025, has so far completed excavation of unsuitable soil for 3,250/3,636m long, with an implementation value of 2.37/58.65 billion VND (4.13%).

The site clearance work of the DT822B project has made progress but is still stuck. The plan has been approved and compensation payments completed for 286 households and 7 organizations, but 3 households remain.

The DT822B project is expected to complete the strategic traffic infrastructure in the border area, effectively connecting with Ho Chi Minh Road, facilitating the circulation of goods and socio-economic development of the locality. However, to ensure the overall progress, the construction units, local authorities and functional agencies continue to coordinate closely, especially in mobilizing people to hand over the site and disburse capital on schedule./.
