The journey from 136 Ho Tung Mau to 20B, lane 275 Au Co, Tay Ho, Hanoi took Newton teachers and students through the hustle and bustle of the modern capital to a peaceful, deep space of literature and art. The spacious campus, designed in a modern yet literary style, brought wonderful feelings to the students. The warm, enthusiastic, and scientific working style and reception of the Museum staff also left many good feelings and impressions, creating an inspiring journey of experience.
Students of 14 10th grade classes gathered in the large hall of the museum in the strong, beautiful and modern uniforms of Newton students. The groups of activities were arranged scientifically and reasonably, bringing an interesting and effective journey of experience. Learning tasks were assigned to each student by individual exercise sheets right from the time they got on the bus. Tasks and equipment for learning were also clearly assigned in advance. With the spirit of learning, eagerness to learn, dynamism and confidence, each student received useful lessons, valuable information, and deep feelings about the literary journey of the Vietnamese people. Love of literature, love of country, awareness and inspiration to strive for self-improvement were naturally aroused in each student.
The general introduction was provided to the students in full and detail by the tour guide right from the beginning of the program. And then, the children visited each corner of the exhibition - Each space is a representation of a period, a time or a literary career of excellent writers. The flow of history and Vietnamese literary life through 4000 years of history is vividly shown not only on the exhibits but also in the design ideas, arrangements, and displays full of art and science here. The groups of students listened attentively, learned, actively and seriously performed their learning tasks.
After that, the students watched a movie at the Museum's multi-screen projection room. According to the Literature 10 program - the book series Connecting knowledge with life being studied in class - lesson 6: Nguyen Trai - dedicated to helping the people ; the documentary film selected for screening was: Nguyen Trai - an outstanding cultural figure. The students had the opportunity to watch and listen to the entire life of the nation's cultural celebrity. They gained more understanding, more emotion and pride in the author of the heroic epic Binh Ngo Dai Cao - who was awarded the 7 words Uc Trai tam thuong quang khue tao by Emperor Le Thanh Tong . The students eagerly recorded and absorbed these valuable documents. Surely, these valuable experiences will enrich their knowledge, foster their love for literature and the country in their life journey. It will also be the motivation and inspiration for the ideals of a good life, the desire to contribute to building the country of the future generation of owners of the country.
Bringing literature back to life, deeply experiencing literature lessons; erasing the distance of space and time, so that learners can truly live and learn literature; that is the purpose and also the success of the experience trip at the Vietnam Literature Museum today of grade 10 students in particular and in Newton's excellenteducation program in general.
Learning activities with lively and interesting lesson approaches like this will certainly inspire and promote creative ideas, love of literature, and effective learning methods in students. Both teachers and students had a morning of experiential learning filled with both knowledge and emotions!
