The benchmark for Journalism and Communications is "sky-high"

The University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) announced the benchmark scores based on high school graduation exam scores, with the highest major being public relations in block C00 (Literature, History, Geography), with 29.1 points.

Many universities in the social sciences have announced admission scores, including those in journalism and communications.

On August 17, many universities in the social sciences announced their admission scores, of which the journalism and communications group continued to maintain high admission scores, almost reaching the absolute threshold.

The University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University , Hanoi ) announced the admission score based on the 2024 high school graduation exam scores, with the highest major being public relations in block C00 (Literature, History, Geography), with 29.1 points. Following that is Korean studies in block C00 with 29.05 points; journalism in block C00 with 29.03 points. Most of the school's majors in block C00 require over 27 points, or over 9 points/subject to be admitted.

This benchmark score has increased slightly compared to last year. In 2023, the admission score to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, based on the high school graduation exam score, has 5 majors with over 28 points, including public relations, journalism, oriental studies, Korean studies and psychology. Of which, public relations has the highest score of 28.78 in block C00.

Hanoi University of Culture has admission scores based on high school graduation exam scores ranging from 22.85 to 28.9 points. Of which, journalism is at the top with a benchmark score of 28.9 points (group C00).

The Academy of Journalism and Communication announced the admission scores for 32 majors and training programs in three methods: based on graduation exam scores, academic records, and combined admission (SAT, IELTS scores or equivalent).

With the method of considering high school graduation exam scores, the Academy of Journalism and Communication has two standard scales of 30 and 40. On the 30-point scale, the multimedia communication major has the highest score with 28.25 in the C15 group (Literature, Mathematics and Social Sciences). Next is the mass communication major, also in this group, with 28.05.

The Party and State Administration Building sector got 24.68 points in group A16 (Math, Literature and Natural Sciences), the lowest on this scale.

Other majors are almost no less than 25. On a scale of 40, the highest admission threshold is 38.12 in History, combination C19 (Literature, CivicEducation and History). English, combination D72 (Literature, Natural Sciences, English) is the lowest with 34.7 points.

According to the announcement of admission scores for applications based on the results of the 2024 high school graduation exam of the Diplomatic Academy, the benchmark score for the C00 combination of all majors is the highest compared to the remaining combinations in the same major.

The highest admission score is for Chinese Studies with a combined C00 score of 29.2/30 points, an average of over 9.7 points/subject. Next is International Communications with 29.05/30 points.

Multimedia Communication major has a benchmark score of 28.25/30 points, the highest at the Academy of Journalism and Communication in terms of graduation exam scores.

Last year, the academy's graduation exam benchmarks ranged from 24 to 26.68 on a scale of 30 and from 33.92 to 38.02 on a scale of 40. Majors that often have high benchmarks are Multimedia Communications, Public Relations, and Television Journalism.

This year, the academy will enroll 2,050 students, an increase of 100. The school reserves 15% of its quota for considering academic records, 15% for considering candidates with international certificates combined with academic records, and the remaining 70% for considering high school graduation exam scores.

The Academy of Journalism and Communication plans to charge a tuition fee of VND507,000 per credit, applicable to general programs. The majors of Advertising, Professional Public Relations, International Political Relations and Communication, Foreign Information, English Language, Sociology, and Publishing Editing will charge higher fees, expected to be VND1.05 million per credit.

Political theory teacher training courses (Philosophy, Scientific Socialism, Political Economy, History of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh Thought) are free.
