Learning and following Uncle Ho, cadres, party members and people of village 4 (Tra Da commune, Pleiku city) always promote the spirit of solidarity, joining hands to build their homeland to develop more and more.
Leading us to visit the lush, fruit-laden coffee garden that promises a bumper crop, Mr. Ho Sy Son could not hide his joy. He said: With 2,400 coffee trees, in 2024, his family will harvest 9 tons of beans, selling them at 133,000 VND/kg. In addition to the coffee area that provides a stable income, his family has 7 sao of land around the house to grow coffee mixed with fruit trees (durian, mangosteen and avocado).
Not only is he active in production development, he is also a pioneer in local movements and activities. “We are for everyone, everyone is for us, only then can the village develop sustainably. When the village develops, the people themselves will benefit,” Mr. Son said with a smile.
According to Mr. Bach Ngoc Sang - Head of the Farmers' Association of Village 4: The association has 80 members. The main income of the villagers is mainly from farming. In recent years, the movement "Farmers compete in production, good business, unite to help each other get rich and reduce poverty sustainably" has been widely deployed and spread strongly.
Currently, 45% of members have achieved the title of good farmer and businessman at all levels. Of which, 1 member has been recognized as a Central level, 7 members at the provincial level, and the rest at the city and commune levels.
Along with competing in production development, farmers also actively responded to new rural construction movements. From contributing labor and money, being willing to donate land, dismantling structures to open roads to voluntarily contributing to various funds, people all agreed to do so. Thanks to this consensus, many inter-village roads were expanded, creating convenience in travel and trade.
Regarding this issue, Mr. Ha Duy Khien - Party Cell Secretary and Head of Village 4 - said: From the State's support capital combined with the people's contributions, the village has built a spacious, clean and beautiful cultural house, 150 m² wide. Inside the cultural house is fully equipped with a sound system to effectively serve meetings and community activities; outside there is a parking area of about 200 m² wide with a solid surrounding wall, creating a clean and beautiful landscape.
“From 2022 to now, the village has focused on maintaining and expanding traffic routes with 3 main routes about 3 km long. Each household voluntarily dismantles structures and contributes funds (corresponding rate of about 10%) according to the land area benefited. The main roads are all concreted, with lighting to ensure ventilation and safety,” Mr. Khien informed.
In particular, to help prevent and limit violations of security and order, the village effectively maintains the model of "Security Camera" and "Crop Protection Team". Mr. Khien added: Villagers have contributed funds to install 9 security cameras at the entrances to the village. The contribution is completely voluntary, with households with conditions contributing a few million VND, and households with difficulties contributing a few hundred thousand VND.
The “Crop Protection Team” model was established many years ago and has remained effective to this day. The team has 6-9 members and operates for 1.5 months per year. The members are divided into shifts to patrol and control the area to ensure security and order. Thanks to that, there has been no theft in the village for many years.
According to Mr. Khien, the people of Village 4 always uphold the sense of responsibility in building a cultural life. Currently, 100% of households have the means of hearing and seeing and practice a civilized lifestyle in weddings, funerals and festivals; 100% of households use clean water, have hygienic bathrooms and toilets and raise livestock without causing environmental pollution.
In particular, promoting the spirit of mutual love, people have actively contributed to charity activities. Specifically, people supported the Northern people who suffered from floods in 2024 with more than 20 million VND; supported the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic with more than 21 million VND... With practical work, the village has maintained the title of "Cultural Village" for 10 consecutive years and has been recognized for many years as "Village with excellent performance".
Talking to reporters, Ms. Tran Thi Lan - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairwoman of the People's Council of Tra Da commune - commented: For many years, Hamlet 4 has been recognized as "Hamlet that has completed its tasks excellently". This is the result of specific and practical actions such as building roads, maintaining security and order, developing household economy and improving the cultural and spiritual life of the people. With constant efforts, Hamlet 4 has become a bright spot in the movement to study and follow the ideology, morality and style of Ho Chi Minh.
