Vocational education opens up opportunities for cultural learning and practical skills. In the age of AI (artificial intelligence), students who know how to combine passion, ability and technology will find the right career direction.

Vocational education is an open choice.
Vocational education is becoming a worthy choice for many students after completing junior high school. Mr. Dao Phi Truong, Department of Continuing Education - Vocational and University, Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City said: If choosing vocational education, students can study at secondary schools, colleges, continuing education centers, vocational education centers - continuing education. Here, students will study both culture and vocational training. At vocational education institutions, students will study culture and vocational training in parallel. Cultural programs are organized in two forms of training suitable to the needs of each student.
The first is the four-subject cultural program. Upon completion, students will be awarded a certificate of completion of high school cultural knowledge, which serves as a basis for transferring to higher levels of education such as college. However, it should be noted that this certificate is not equivalent to a high school diploma.
The second is the seven-subject cultural program. After completing the program, students can register to take the high school graduation exam with the same exam questions, time and subjects as students in general schools. Those who meet the requirements will be awarded a high school graduation certificate, opening the door to continue conquering knowledge at universities.
These flexible training forms not only help students have more opportunities to improve their education and develop professional skills, but also create conditions for them to determine early on their appropriate study and career orientation.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Tram, English teacher at Tran Van On Secondary School, Tan Dinh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, career guidance is being implemented earlier and earlier. Right from secondary school, many students have started to think about and choose a suitable career for the future.
The post-secondary stage is an important turning point, requiring students to have a clear career orientation. Therefore, career counseling and support work is being focused on and promoted by educational institutions. Ms. Truong Hai Thanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, highly appreciated the organization of the Admissions and Career Guidance Day in recent years because it has brought a lot of authentic and useful information to guide the career of the city's post-secondary students, helping students to equip themselves with more knowledge and skills to choose the right career.
With early access to information and guidance, students can proactively explore and consider many options for the future. In particular, vocational education is a flexible, practical and potential direction. With many suitable learning paths and opportunities to develop their academic qualifications, students can proactively choose a path that suits their abilities, interests and career orientation.
Career choices when AI explodes
AI is gradually becoming an inseparable part of modern life. The emergence of AI brings many new opportunities, but also makes many students hesitate when choosing a career. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, a psychology and career counseling expert, shared: Each student first needs to clearly understand their own abilities, strengths and passions. Once they understand themselves, students can learn about trends to determine the right path and proactively adapt to social changes.
Currently, the strong development of AI has an impact on the employment structure, but the impact is not too great. Only a few occupations may disappear, while most fields still exist and continue to develop in new directions. The proportion of deeply impacted occupations accounts for less than 10%. In particular, fields related to information technology are opening up countless opportunities, becoming an attractive destination for a dynamic and creative young generation of workers.
Student Trinh Nhat Duyen, class 9A8, Tran Van On Secondary School said: In the past, I was worried when I saw AI-generated paintings being widely spread, afraid that the art industry I loved would gradually be overshadowed. However, after listening to advice from experts, I am more confident in choosing an art-related career for the future.
In the context of explosive AI development, career choices are not only based on trends or the attractiveness of the field of study, but more importantly, understanding yourself and the ability to adapt to change.
