Lao Cai province delegation learns from digital transformation experience in Da Nang city

On July 9, in Da Nang city, the working delegation of Lao Cai province led by Mr. Trinh Xuan Truong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, had a working session with the People's Committee of Da Nang city to exchange experiences in digital transformation.

Comrade Le Trung Chinh, Chairman of the People's Committee of the City, emphasized: To successfully transform digitally, it is necessary to mobilize the participation of the entire political system. Digital transformation is the "driving force" in the city's development, a task that is both urgent and long-term, and must be carried out resolutely, persistently, and continuously with firm, positive, proactive, and focused steps; inheriting the achievements of technology development and application of existing digital data, coupled with innovation and creativity.

The Resolution of the 22nd Congress of the Da Nang City Party Committee, term 2020 - 2025, identified one of the three key and breakthrough tasks as: "Strongly innovating the growth model, restructuring the economy, focusing on strongly developing high-tech industry and information technology, associated with building innovative startup cities, smart cities, creating a foundation to promote the development of new industries and fields, especially digital economy, digital society and digital government". Da Nang City strives to complete the construction of a smart city by 2030, synchronously connecting with smart urban networks in the country and the ASEAN region.

Like other localities nationwide, Da Nang city focuses on digital transformation based on three pillars, including digital government, digital economy and digital society. According to the 2022 digital transformation assessment report of the Ministry of Information and Communications, Da Nang city has ranked first in the provincial digital transformation index for the third consecutive year, leading all three pillars of digital transformation and 13 consecutive years leading the ranking of the readiness index for application and development of information technology (Vietnam ICT Index) among the group of provinces and centrally-run cities.

Along with that, Da Nang city has deployed many applications, utilities, and channels for people and businesses to use and has achieved a high level of interaction between the government and people in the digital environment, such as: Danang Smart City multi-service and utility integration platform (1.2 million downloads); MyPortal digital citizen platform (more than 260,000 people have digital citizen accounts); Da Nang Suggestion and Rescue Portal (1,000 suggestions and feedbacks/month), Give and Receive application, 1022 Call Center (10,000 interactions/month)...

The city also has many policies to develop technology infrastructure and attract human resources. In 2024 alone, the City People's Committee submitted to the City People's Council for approval at the mid-year meeting policies to support the activities of community digital technology groups and Project 06; support the cost of buying smartphones for poor and near-poor households; support the development of semiconductor, microchip and artificial intelligence sectors in the area.
