Chairman Nguyen Van Duoc: Turning patriotic emulation into action, realizing the aspirations of Ho Chi Minh City

On the morning of October 25, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee solemnly held the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Patriotic Emulation Congress for the 2025 - 2030 term.

Attending the Congress were Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Tran Luu Quang, leaders of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.

Also attending the Congress were Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, Labor Heroes and 478 typical advanced collectives and individuals.

New phase, new demands

Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, assessed that over the past time, the patriotic emulation movements of Ho Chi Minh City have really gone into depth, linked to real life, creating an important driving force for political stability, socio-economic development, and improving people's lives.

The Congress introduced the Ho Chi Minh City delegation to attend the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress, including 70 collectives and individuals representing 478 advanced models in the patriotic emulation movements of Ho Chi Minh City in the period of 2020 - 2025.

Many exemplary collectives and individuals, typical advanced examples have contributed to creating the dynamic, creative and affectionate identity of the city.

Chairman Nguyen Van Duoc acknowledged that Ho Chi Minh City is entering a new phase with a larger scale, more potential but also greater challenges, requiring the patriotic emulation movement to continue to innovate strongly, creatively and contribute to bringing the Resolution of the 1st City Party Congress into practical life.

In the next 5 years, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc requested the patriotic emulation movement in Ho Chi Minh City to focus on building a clean and strong Party organization and political system; and perfecting the organizational model of the political system.

Promoting the tradition of solidarity, dynamism, loyalty, creativity, daring to think, knowing how to do, daring to take responsibility; building a team of "intelligent, courageous, dedicated, honest, innovative" cadres, wholeheartedly serving the people.

At the same time, mobilize all resources, effectively exploit potentials, advantages, strategic positions and effective development of science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation to promote rapid and sustainable socio-economic development.

Towards the 100th anniversary of the Party's founding (2030), Ho Chi Minh City is among the top 100 global cities, worth living and having an innovative ecosystem in the world, belonging to the high-income group. By the 100th anniversary of the founding of the country (2045), it will be among the top 100 best cities in the world, worthy of being an international megacity of Southeast Asia.

Not only that, improving people's lives, ensuring social security, sustainable poverty reduction, taking care of policies and workers, not leaving anyone behind...

Realizing the goals and aspirations of Ho Chi Minh City

With the above goals, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc emphasized that Party committees and authorities must closely link emulation results with the responsibilities of leaders.

Next, renew the growth model, restructure the economy towards taking science, technology and innovation as the main driving force. Reconstruct the development space according to multipolar - integrated - hyper-connected thinking; mobilize all investment resources for construction with focus and key points; orient the formation of "3 regions - 1 special zone - 3 corridors - 5 pillars".

He also emphasized that agencies and units need to maintain and improve the rankings of PCI, PAR Index, PAPI, DTI, etc., reform administration, and improve the effectiveness of state management.

Innovating the method of organizing movements, linking with breakthrough programs, key projects and launching special topics on building international financial centers, smart, green, sustainable cities, administrative reform, digital transformation of public administration..." - he emphasized.

At the Congress, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc launched the patriotic emulation movement of Ho Chi Minh City for the period 2025 - 2030 with the slogan: "Solidarity, innovation, creativity, emulation to build a pioneering Ho Chi Minh City, together with the whole country entering a new era".

On behalf of the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc called on all cadres, party members, soldiers of the armed forces, civil servants, public employees, businessmen, intellectuals, artists, workers, farmers, youth and people of Ho Chi Minh City to continue to promote the tradition of patriotism, the spirit of solidarity, creativity, loyalty and pioneering for the whole country, with the whole country.

"Let's turn the emulation movement into practical and effective revolutionary actions to gradually realize the goal and aspiration of building Ho Chi Minh City to develop together with the whole country, progressing rapidly and strongly in the era of national growth" - Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc emphasized.

Competition is the driving force of development.

Aiming at the goal of building a civilized, modern, and compassionate Ho Chi Minh City in the 2025 - 2030 period, the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front will focus on widely mobilizing all classes of people to compete in patriotism to carry out 7 tasks.

In addition, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the City will also launch a competition for innovation and digital transformation for the city's development, taking the lead in building digital government, digital society, digital citizens, and applying technology to management, supervision, and social criticism.

Along with that, launching emulation to protect the environment, respond to climate change; emulation to build a clean and strong political system; emulation to promote the strength of great solidarity, arousing the aspiration for Ho Chi Minh City to develop quickly and sustainably, for the whole country, with the whole country...

Emulation is an endless source of inspiration, a flame of patriotism, a driving force for development.
