Nghia Do Commune Police helped people transfer back more than 60 million VND to the person who transferred the money by mistake.

On the afternoon of October 24, witnessed by the Nghia Do Commune Police (Lao Cai Province), Ms. Lai Thi Huyen, born in 1988, residing in Nam Pau village, voluntarily returned the amount of 66,200,000 VND to the person who mistakenly transferred the money, Ms. Vu Thu Tram, born in 1982, residing in Long Hung 2 village, Binh Tan commune, Dong Nai province.

Previously, on October 19, 2025, Ms. Huyen's bank account unexpectedly received 66,200,000 VND from an unknown person. After checking, Ms. Huyen concluded that someone might have mistakenly transferred the money to her account.

With honesty and a sense of responsibility, Ms. Huyen proactively called and reported the incident to the Nghia Do Commune Police because she was hospitalized at the time.

Immediately after receiving the report, the Nghia Do Commune Police quickly verified and identified the person who mistakenly transferred the money as Ms. Vu Thu Tram from Dong Nai province. After contacting each other, both parties agreed to return the money, and by the afternoon of October 24th, the return of the money was completed in full and according to regulations.

Upon receiving her belongings back, Ms. Vu Thu Tram was deeply moved and expressed her gratitude to Ms. Lai Thi Huyen and the Nghia Do Commune Police, stating that this was a large sum of money that she didn't know how to get back.

The small but humane act of Ms. Lai Thi Huyen is a testament to a life of honesty, compassion, and responsibility towards the community. In modern society, such noble deeds are all the more valuable and deserve to be spread, contributing to the enhancement of the value of kindness in life.

The Nghia Do commune police advise citizens who mistakenly transfer money to someone else's account or receive money from an unknown source to report it to the nearest police station. Intentionally failing to return money to the person who mistakenly transferred it may result in criminal prosecution for the crime of unlawful possession of property. Furthermore, citizens should not attempt to return money without a third party present to avoid being exploited in high-tech scams.
