This morning (July 18), 100 businesses, including many Japanese businesses, attended the Business Connection and Job Introduction Festival organized by Cao Thang Technical College to "hunt" for candidates, with a total of 4,200 job positions.
The job fair attracted more than 3,000 students who had just completed their graduation projects in fields such as mechanical engineering technology; electrical and electronic engineering technology; automotive engineering technology, information technology; mechatronic engineering technology, automatic engineering technology, welding, computer repair and assembly technology, etc.
Why are students invited to lunch by Japanese companies?
Flying to Vietnam from Japan to attend the job fair, Mr. Seiji Oishi, CEO of Shimizu Company, held in-person and online interviews with students. It is known that last month, this company announced recruitment and received applications from students majoring in mechanics, electronics, welding... at Cao Thang Technical College. 9 students passed the application round to participate in today's interview.

Accordingly, Mr. Seiji Oishi asked questions, the company's engineers in Japan discussed and interviewed to select suitable candidates. And 5 students were selected.
However, this was not the final result. Mr. Seiji Oishi invited 5 students to lunch to… continue the recruitment round.
According to Dr. Le Dinh Kha, Principal of Cao Thang Technical College, inviting people to lunch is essentially a way for businesses to evaluate their attitude, style, communication skills, behavior, etc.
"The selected candidates have met the professional requirements. But that is not enough, Japanese employers also require other qualities and skills to ensure that the candidates are suitable for the business. A lunch exchange is both friendly and gives employers the opportunity to evaluate these factors from the candidates," said Dr. Kha.
It is known that after this evaluation round, 2-3 students will be selected and officially become members of Shimizu Company. The company will sponsor the candidates' Japanese language tuition. After reaching the required language level, the candidates will go to Japan to work and receive the same salary as Japanese engineers.
Also from Japan, Mr. Fukumori Toyokin, Sales and Marketing Director of Yumoto Vietnam Company, said that the company is recruiting 20 engineers and 20 interns for CNC machining and CNC design positions. After being recruited, candidates will have a 10-day tour of the parent company in Japan, then return to Vietnam to work.
"We welcome fresh graduates, no experience required. Knowing Japanese and being able to withstand work pressure will be an advantage. In addition to the starting salary for college level of 7.5 million and university level of more than 9 million VND/month, you will be supported with accommodation, transportation and many other benefits. After one year, the salary and allowances will increase," Mr. Fukumori informed.
According to the Japanese director, the company has recently accepted 6 interns from Cao Thang Technical College, of which 4 have become official employees. "In addition to good professional skills, many young Vietnamese people work very hard and seriously, so our company is very eager to recruit them," said Mr. Fukumori.
Welding job with international certificate salary 50-70 million VND/month after 3 years
Ms. Lu Thi Thao Nguyen, a recruitment specialist at Dai Dung Construction and Trading Mechanical Joint Stock Company, said that because the company is operating a new factory, it needs to recruit 30-40 employees for welding, assembly, painting, and machine operation positions. The salary that this company pays to new graduates ranges from 12-20 million VND/month depending on the profession.
In particular, according to Ms. Nguyen, college graduates in welding with international certificates (CSWIP 3.1/3.2) have extremely attractive salaries, starting at around 20 million VND/month and after 3 years of experience can reach 50-70 million VND/month. "For newly recruited candidates, if they are capable, the company is willing to support tuition for this certificate," Ms. Nguyen added.

Mr. Tran Minh Duc, Head of Talent Acquisition Department, said that college graduates majoring in mechanics, mechatronics, and automobile engineering can apply, with a starting salary of about 9 million VND/month.
Meanwhile, Mr. Le Tu Tru, Director of KT M&E Co., Ltd., said that the company is recruiting 3 design engineers with a probationary salary of 8-12 million VND/month, official salary of 15 million VND/month and 30 technicians with a probationary salary of 8-10 million VND/month, no experience required.
"College graduates majoring in air conditioning, welding, and electricity can all apply. In addition to expertise, students need to have a hard-working, serious, and eager-to-learn attitude," Mr. Tru informed.
Many industries have high starting salaries
Dr. Le Dinh Kha said hundreds of students were officially recruited at today’s job fair. In particular, businesses need a lot of human resources in fields such as welding, electro-mechanical engineering, automation, etc.
"About 50% of students in these majors at the school have jobs after their internship, before graduation, with a starting salary of 10-12 million VND/month, and after 1-3 years, many students have an income of 20-30 million VND/month," Dr. Kha informed.
According to Mr. Kha, the job fair is an opportunity for students to directly approach employers and find job opportunities suitable for their majors. In addition, businesses can also recruit quality human resources to meet production and business needs.
