(HNMO) - Recently, the movement to build Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space launched by the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee has been enthusiastically responded to by all levels and sectors. Notably, many religious establishments have also established this special space to commemorate Uncle Ho, study and follow his example.
On May 28, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quy Duc commune (Binh Chanh district, Ho Chi Minh city) coordinated with Lien Nghiem pagoda to launch "Ho Chi Minh cultural space".
This is the first religious establishment in Quy Duc commune to build a "Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space" to effectively implement the motto of solidarity between religions, promote propaganda and mobilize religious people and religious dignitaries to fulfill their civic responsibilities towards the Fatherland, and live a "good life and good religion".
Here, monks, nuns, Buddhists and people can admire images introducing the life and chronology of events and activities of President Ho Chi Minh. In addition, many of his classic works such as Testament, Ho Chi Minh Complete Works, etc. are also introduced.
Nun Thich Nu Hue Bao, abbot of Lien Nghiem Monastery, shared: “The construction of “Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space” at Lien Nghiem Monastery aims to encourage and motivate monks, nuns, and Buddhists in the commune to always live a “good life, good religion”. This is a place for each citizen to constantly study, practice, and follow Uncle Ho’s teachings, making them a way of life, a way of thinking, and a way of doing in daily life”.
Previously, on May 27, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thao Dien Ward (Thu Duc City) and the An Hoa Monastery Management Board also coordinated to inaugurate the "Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space" at this religious facility.
According to Most Venerable Thich Minh Thuan, Member of the Central Cultural Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Deputy Chief of the Office of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Ho Chi Minh City, Head of the Information and Communication Department of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Thu Duc City, Abbot of An Hoa Monastery, the "Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space" at the monastery aims to help local people, especially Buddhists, to widely access and learn more about the life, career, and revolutionary career of President Ho Chi Minh.
“The construction of the "Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space" at An Hoa Monastery also demonstrates the deep affection of believers, Buddhists, ethnic minorities, religious people and people of Thao Dien ward, thereby strengthening the extensive propaganda work to believers, Buddhists, ethnic minorities and religious people to promote studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style in social activities", said Venerable Thich Minh Thuan.
Many other "Ho Chi Minh Cultural Spaces" have also been established by religious establishments in Ho Chi Minh City. For example, Nhu Lai Pagoda has become the first religious establishment in Go Vap District to open "Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space" on Uncle Ho's birthday (May 19, 2023). Thien Ton Pagoda, Tue Thanh Assembly Hall and many religious establishments in District 5 have launched "Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space", serving monks, nuns, Buddhists, and Chinese people.
In Cu Chi district, "Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space" has been established at Quan De Temple. Mr. Tran Van Su, owner of a boarding house for Cham people in Tan Phu Trung commune, Cu Chi district, also built "Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space" to serve the boarders.
The Cao Dai Temple in Hiep Phuoc Commune (Nha Be District) and the Cao Dai Temple Management Board in District 5 have also opened "Ho Chi Minh Cultural Spaces". District 11 has a "Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space" at Phung Son Temple.
According to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, by the end of May 2023, nearly 100 religious and folk belief establishments in the city had initially formed Ho Chi Minh cultural institutions such as Buddhism, Catholicism, Cao Dai, Protestantism, Islam, Chinese Assembly Halls, Temples, etc.
Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Tran Kim Yen said that in 2023 and the following years, the city will continue to promote the construction of "Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space", contributing to the development of the city's culture and people; building a healthy cultural environment, urban lifestyle; promoting cultural values, characteristics and personality of Ho Chi Minh City people.
