According to the VNA special correspondent, on the morning of October 6 (local time), General Secretary and President To Lam and the high-level Vietnamese delegation laid wreaths in commemoration of President Ho Chi Minh at Montreau Park, Montreuil city, Republic of France.

After laying a wreath at the Monument to President Ho Chi Minh and observing a minute of silence in remembrance of him in Montreau Park, General Secretary and President To Lam expressed his emotion at once again visiting the city of Montreau, home to the statue of President Ho Chi Minh and the Ho Chi Minh Space.

The General Secretary and President expressed his deep appreciation for the kind gesture of the city government and the people of Montreau in preserving the precious documents and memorabilia of President Ho Chi Minh.

General Secretary and President To Lam stated that during his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh devoted himself to fostering friendship between the peoples of the two countries and was one of the founding members of the French Communist Party. General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized that Vietnam and France share a special relationship in all aspects, from history, politics, and economics to culture, architecture, and people... with many ups and downs and breakthroughs.

According to General Secretary and President To Lam, President Ho Chi Minh's close ties with France, as well as the revolutionary path and national liberation he chose, are the clearest illustration of the relationship between the two countries and peoples of Vietnam and France.

The General Secretary and President expressed his pleasure at the increasingly positive development of the Vietnam-France Strategic Partnership, based on the traditional friendship and trust between the two countries. He emphasized that these achievements were significantly contributed to by the French friends also present at the event. In particular, cooperation between Vietnamese and French localities is a distinctive feature of bilateral relations, contributing to strengthening people-to-people exchanges and cultural exchanges between the two countries.

General Secretary and President To Lam affirmed that Vietnam has always considered France a leading European partner, and the choice of France for his first visit to Europe as General Secretary and President of Vietnam demonstrates the strong determination of the Vietnamese Party and State to further strengthen multifaceted cooperation with France.

Representing the Montreuil city government, Mayor Patrice Bessac expressed his honor in welcoming General Secretary and President To Lam to Montreau Park, a special historical site housing the Living History Museum, preserving memories of the liberation struggles and upholding human dignity. Mayor Patrice Bessac emphasized that the presence of the General Secretary and President here is a strong testament to the close friendship between the people of Vietnam and the people of France, especially between the people of Vietnam and the city of Montreau, a city of tranquility, rich culture, and a city that has grown from a tradition of workers' struggle and commitments to social justice.

After planting a commemorative tree, General Secretary and President To Lam and the high-level Vietnamese delegation visited the Ho Chi Minh Space. Signing the guest book, the General Secretary and President expressed his honor and emotion at visiting the Ho Chi Minh Space, emphasizing that the visit helped the delegation better understand the immense sacrifices of President Ho Chi Minh on his path to national salvation, and to more deeply appreciate the good feelings and valuable support that the Montreau city government and French friends have given to Vietnam and the traditional friendship between the two countries.

General Secretary and President To Lam respectfully thanked the French for dedicating such a dignified space to preserve the invaluable documents and artifacts of President Ho Chi Minh, the national liberation hero and world cultural figure; affirming that the Vietnamese people are committed to following the path chosen by the beloved President Ho Chi Minh, determined to build a peaceful, unified, independent, democratic, and prosperous Vietnam, making a worthy contribution to the world revolutionary cause; wishing for the strategic partnership between Vietnam and France to continue to develop well, for the benefit of the people of both countries, and for peace, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.

* The "Ho Chi Minh Space" is located within the Museum of Living History in the heart of Montreau Park, in the city of Montreuil (a suburb of Paris). To the left of the Museum is the area housing the bust of President Ho Chi Minh. In 1980, the Museum of Living History was chosen as the place to preserve the relics of President Ho Chi Minh, and the "Ho Chi Minh Space" was inaugurated on the 110th anniversary of his birth (May 19, 2000). This space houses valuable images and artifacts about President Ho Chi Minh's life and activities during his time in France. In addition, the space displays many documents, books, newspapers, and photographs introducing the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh. The city government considers this space one of the city's cultural heritage sites.
