Before going to Thailand, Coach Mai Duc Chung and his team spent more than three weeks training at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center ( Hanoi ). During this time, the coaching staff focused on reviewing the players' strength, adjusting the amount of exercise and improving their physical fitness.

The Vietnamese women's team officially left for Thailand to attend the 33rd SEA Games.

In particular, the team had a quality training trip in Japan, where the players had friendly matches with high-level women's clubs, thereby improving coordination, ball handling speed and cohesion between the lines.

At this Congress, women's football will take place in Chonburi province from December 5. The Vietnamese women's team is in group B, a group considered difficult with many strong and experienced opponents.

Malaysia continues to maintain a stable playing framework, Myanmar has a disciplined playing style, while the Philippines is showing great ambition with a squad consisting of many naturalized players, superior physical strength and a modern playing style.

The Vietnamese women's team is currently in a generational transition period, with many young faces participating in the SEA Games for the first time. The challenge is even greater when key midfielder Nguyen Thi Van was injured in a practice match on November 18, forcing her to miss the entire tournament. This is a regrettable loss because Van is a player who plays an important role in the midfield, supporting the defense and regulating the tempo of the match.

Despite facing many difficulties, the goal of coach Mai Duc Chung and his team is still very clear when they focus on each match, pass the group stage, advance to the semi-finals and aim for the final to defend the title.

Before departure, coach Mai Duc Chung shared that the whole team is in good spirits, highly united and determined to show their best performance. He acknowledged the efforts of the players throughout the preparation process, especially the quick adaptation of the young players.

According to the schedule, the Vietnamese women's team will have a familiarization session before entering the opening match of Group B against Malaysia on December 5. The next two matches will take place on December 8 against the Philippines and on December 10 against Myanmar. With careful preparation and high fighting spirit, the Vietnamese women's team aims to bring pride to the fans, continuing the tradition of success in the SEA Games arena.
