In the flooded fields in Khanh Hung commune ( Tay Ninh province), from early morning, soldiers were present with the people in the fields. The water was knee-deep, in some places waist-deep, but everyone was eager to harvest the rice. Heavy bundles of rice were bundled, passed from hand to hand onto boats. Boats loaded with rice glided on the muddy, alluvial water to high places. Captain Tran Thuan Phat, Armed Forces Team Leader, Long Khot Border Guard Station shared: "Most of the people around here live on rice fields. If they don't harvest in time, the ripe rice will be lost when it comes into contact with water. We try to help people as quickly as possible to bring the rice home."

Not only helping people harvest, officers and soldiers of Long Khot Border Guard Station also support people in drying and transporting rice to a safe place; help repair barns, move livestock and poultry to higher places, contributing to minimizing damage caused by natural disasters.
Mr. Phan Van Tom, a resident of Thai Ky hamlet, Khanh Hung commune, said: “My family has 3.8 hectares of rice fields that are deeply submerged in water. If the Border Guards hadn’t come to help, my family probably wouldn’t have been able to harvest in time. The rice is flooded, there are few people, everyone is worried. Seeing the soldiers wading through the fields with the people, I was very happy. The soldiers are truly a solid support for the people in difficult times.”
