After bringing the boat ashore, Squadron 102 coordinated with Tien Dien Commune (Ha Tinh Province), Lach Ken Border Post (Ha Tinh Provincial Border Guard Command) and Xuan Thanh Tourist Area Management Board to hand it over to the family in accordance with regulations.

Previously, at 8:15 p.m. on July 30, the Coast Guard Region 1 Command received a report from the Xuan Thanh Tourist Area Management Board (Tien Dien Commune) that a father and son, Mr. Nguyen TT, were tourists who rented a Sup board to paddle while vacationing at Xuan Thanh beach and were swept away by waves and lost contact.

The Coast Guard Region 1 Command immediately dispatched CSB 723 boat and 5 officers and soldiers from Squadron 102, who were on duty in the Cua Hoi sea area ( Nghe An province), to the scene to coordinate with functional forces to search for the missing victims.

At 6:10 a.m. on July 31, while CSB 723 was searching, it received information that Nguyen TT and his son had been rescued by the cargo ship VINASHIN 555 in the area 8 nautical miles south of Hon Mat. The ship VINASHIN 555 requested the Coast Guard to assist in bringing the two victims back to shore.

At the time of reception, both father and son Nguyen TT showed signs of exhaustion after many hours at sea, but fortunately they were still conscious and their lives were not in danger.

After receiving them, officers and soldiers on CSB 723 boat checked their health, encouraged them, and brought Nguyen TT and his son safely to the port of Squadron 102.
