Bringing health insurance policy closer to students

To raise awareness and responsibility of students and parents in participating in health insurance, the Provincial Social Insurance has flexibly implemented propaganda solutions suitable for each subject, close to reality, contributing to bringing health insurance policies closer to students and parents.

With the goal of helping students understand the purpose, meaning and value of health insurance policy, recently, the Provincial Social Insurance (SSI) coordinated with Tay Nguyen University to organize a conference to propagate, consult and answer questions about health insurance policy for students in the 2025-2026 school year.

Accordingly, more than 600 students of the school were introduced, informed and had their questions answered about the subjects, contribution levels, benefits, and application documents for student health insurance; benefits and rights when examining and treating patients with health insurance...

Here, the dialogue between students and Social Insurance officers took place quite lively with many questions such as: Procedures for registering and renewing health insurance cards; how to choose and change the initial medical examination and treatment facility; benefits when receiving inpatient and outpatient treatment; payment policies... were answered specifically by the Provincial Social Insurance and professional officers, illustrated with real-life situations, helping students understand clearly and feel secure when participating.

It is known that in recent years, Tay Nguyen University has coordinated with the provincial Social Insurance to effectively disseminate health insurance policies and promote propaganda and mobilization of students to participate in health insurance. With efforts and close monitoring, in recent years, nearly 100% of the school's students have participated in health insurance. This not only contributes significantly to the goal of universal health insurance coverage in the province but also takes care of their health, helping them study with peace of mind. In the 2025-2026 school year, Tay Nguyen University has about 1,000 students, with a large number of students, so right from the beginning of the school year, during the civic week, the school has focused on propaganda and mobilization so that all students understand the benefits as well as their responsibilities towards this policy.

Dr. Le The Phiet, Vice Principal of Tay Nguyen University, said that organizing a conference to propagate, advise and answer questions about health insurance policies for students not only helps students have a correct and sufficient understanding of the contribution levels, benefits and benefits when participating, but also contributes to each student becoming an active propagandist in spreading the policy to family members, schools and society. The school also commits to accompany the provincial Social Insurance to continue to propagate, mobilize and guide students to actively participate in health insurance, ensure social security and expand coverage, towards universal health insurance.

Previously, in a meeting of parents at the beginning of the school year at Luong The Vinh Secondary School (Tan An Ward), the provincial Social Insurance also organized a "Propaganda, consultation and answering booth on student health insurance policy" for staff, teachers, students and parents. Here, the provincial Social Insurance staff organized consultation tables, provided information and answered questions about student health insurance policy related to family contribution levels, State support levels, benefits when going to the hospital; benefit levels, scope of benefits, how to use health insurance cards when going to the hospital; benefits when participating continuously for 5 years; benefits at medical examination and treatment lines... so that parents of students know and actively participate for their children.

"Stock booth for propaganda, consultation and answering questions about student health insurance policies" is an activity deployed synchronously and uniformly throughout the provincial Social Insurance system at the beginning of the school year, aiming to spread and raise awareness of parents and students about the rights and responsibilities when participating in health insurance, aiming for 100% coverage in the 2025-2026 school year and the following years.

"The health insurance policy for students is an important part of the social security policy, demonstrating the Party and State's concern for the young generation. In the 2025-2026 school year, this policy has many new points, especially the level of support for health insurance participation for students from the state budget is adjusted to increase from 30% to 50% of the contribution level.

In particular, in Dak Lak province, in addition to the state budget support, the local budget also supports students with an additional 5% of the contribution, raising the total support level when participating in health insurance for students to 55%.

With this support level, students only have to pay 45% of the fee, creating favorable conditions for all students to participate in health insurance and have their rights protected in case of illness or accident," said Deputy Director of the Provincial Social Insurance, Dam Thi Thanh Que.
