On June 3, the Criminal Police Department (PC02) - Ho Chi Minh City Police is temporarily detaining Ngo Quang Anh (28 years old, residing in Dong Hung Thuan Ward, District 12, Ho Chi Minh City) to investigate the acts of extortion and rape.
Ngo Quang Anh was arrested with a computer containing many images and clips of prostitutes.
According to PC02, Ngo Quang Anh joined social media groups to find prostitutes. After agreeing on a price, Ngo Quang Anh made an appointment with the prostitute at a hotel. During the sexual intercourse, Ngo Quang Anh secretly recorded the video.
Ngo Quang Anh then used these images and clips to threaten prostitutes into giving them free sex or money. If their demands were not met, Ngo Quang Anh would post the nude images on social media or send them to the prostitutes’ friends and relatives.
Late on June 1, PC02 of Ho Chi Minh City Police coordinated with Go Vap District Police to conduct an administrative inspection of a hotel on Nguyen Van Khoi Street (Ward 11, Go Vap District). In room 204 of the hotel, the police discovered Ngo Quang Anh having sex with Ms. NTT.
Working with the police, Ms. NTT said that after selling sex to Ngo Quang Anh, she received sensitive photos of herself from him. Ngo Quang Anh asked Ms. NTT to have sex, otherwise he would post her nude photos on the internet.
Ms. NTT negotiated to give Ngo Quang Anh her ring (worth 120 million VND) but he did not agree. On the evening of June 1, Ngo Quang Anh asked Ms. NTT to go to a hotel on Nguyen Van Khoi Street to have sex. There, Ms. NTT gave Ngo Quang Anh 10 million VND and the ring on his hand.
Police seized and checked Ngo Quang Anh's phone and computer and discovered many clips recording sexual intercourse and nude images of many different people.
Working with the police, Ngo Quang Anh initially admitted his crime.
PC02 Ho Chi Minh City Police Department announced that anyone who is a victim of Ngo Quang Anh should contact this unit to report and denounce the crime.
