Railways and airlines transport relief goods free of charge

On October 30, many transport businesses said they would receive and transport free relief goods for people affected by floods in the Central region.

Accordingly, Vietnam Airlines , Pacific Airlines and VASCO will receive and transport free of charge support goods from agencies, groups, organizations and businesses to Hue, Da Nang and Chu Lai airports.

Relief goods will be exempted from all shipping fees, fuel surcharges and related fees, and will be given priority loading on flights of airlines to and from the Central region.

The program applies to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels, People's Committees of localities, units under the Vietnam Red Cross Society , socio-political organizations, State agencies, social organizations, charitable funds licensed to operate by State agencies and enterprises whose support purposes are confirmed or introduced by competent authorities.

Other organizations and individuals who need to transport support goods can contact the above units to receive free shipping support.

On the same day, Vietnam Railways Corporation said it will continue to transport relief goods free of charge.

The work of receiving and unloading relief goods is organized at qualified terminal stations on the national railway network such as: Saigon, Song Than, Nha Trang, Dong Hoi, Vinh, Thanh Hoa, Giap Bat, Hanoi, Hai Phong... Relief goods will be transported to Hue station and Da Nang station for further distribution.
