Railways issued an urgent telegram, not allowing trains to run through the storm center.

Informing Giao Thong Newspaper, Mr. Tran Anh Tuan, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Railway Corporation, said that this unit has just continued to issue an urgent telegram requesting its affiliated units to proactively deploy effective prevention and control measures to minimize damage caused by storms and rains.

Specifically, railway joint stock companies, railway signal information joint stock companies and railway operating branches inspect key locations at risk of insecurity, reinforce to ensure safety; strictly implement patrol and guard regimes at key locations and key areas.

Organize 24/7 on-call staff to promptly direct incident response work; prepare plans to deal with any bad situations that may occur during heavy rains and storms to ensure absolute safety for people, vehicles, equipment, factories and railway traffic safety.

The Corporation also requires these units to be fully equipped with protective equipment, ensuring absolute safety for workers when performing rescue tasks when an incident occurs.

For transport units, there must be a response plan, a plan to transfer passengers, provide food, essential necessities, and medicine for passenger trains, and preserve goods in areas prone to disruption of railway traffic due to storms. Ensure absolute safety for passengers, goods, and vehicles.

Locomotive enterprises must proactively develop preventive measures to ensure absolute safety for train operations in rainy and stormy weather; arrange enough locomotives to serve rescue work, ensuring train operation in the fastest time; thoroughly educate employees when on duty to focus on observing, strictly complying with procedures and regulations, especially paying attention to train operations during periods of prolonged heavy rain.

"The transport control center closely monitors weather conditions to proactively regulate train routes at the departure station. Coordinate with railway branches to check stations on the route that have sufficient service conditions to be able to arrange train stops to avoid rain and storms most reasonably; absolutely do not arrange trains to run through the center of a storm," Vietnam Railways Corporation requested.
