Ericsson and Mobifone cooperate to establish 5G Innovation Center

Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) and Mobifone have just signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a 5G Innovation Hub at Mobifone's headquarters.

The center will be equipped with advanced equipment, interactive displays and a variety of training resources to introduce innovative 5G applications and demonstrate the potential of 5G to users and businesses.

The 5G Innovation Hub is designed as a collaborative space for testing cutting-edge 5G networks. It will be a place to develop the latest 5G applications in collaboration with local and international partners. Ericsson and Mobifone aim to turn the hub into a dynamic innovation environment, creating applications for both users and businesses, and supporting research and development (R&D) projects.

Mr. To Manh Cuong, General Director of Mobifone, shared: “With the new Innovation Center, businesses and industries in Vietnam will clearly understand the transformational potential of 5G and its importance in their long-term development strategy. 5G will be a key factor to promote digital transformation initiatives and maximize the benefits of Industry 4.0.”

Ericsson will share its global experience in deploying 5G commercial applications, and support Mobifone in building and maintaining the Innovation Center, including design consulting and service experience solutions.

“By collaborating with Mobifone and other ecosystem partners in Vietnam, we will promote innovation, support national digital transformation initiatives and bring practical benefits to businesses. Ericsson is committed to connecting Mobifone with international research centers and global partners, turning the 5G Innovation Hub into a pioneering experience center,” said Rita Mokbel, President of Ericsson Vietnam.

Ericsson continues to assert its leadership position in the 5G network infrastructure market, including radio access networks (RAN), transport networks, and core networks, according to the latest report from consultancy Frost and Sullivan. Ericsson is ranked as the leader in Frost's 5G Network Infrastructure market analysis.
