Connecting communities to build model new rural villages

Located next to each other and with similar natural conditions, the two villages possess many advantages for development. The inter-village road has been upgraded, 90% of the alleys are concreted; the shared irrigation system ensures stable irrigation water, helping people maintain year-round production. Thanks to this advantage, the two villages can easily implement activities to improve village roads, alleys and meet environmental, cultural and security criteria.

Responding to the movement "The whole country joins hands to build new rural areas", the Front Working Committee of the two villages launched the Campaign "The whole people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas", mobilizing people to implement the criteria of advanced and exemplary new rural areas. The two villages have taken advantage of support funds, promoted internal resources, upgraded irrigation, and installed solar energy lamps. Mass organizations mobilized people to increase production, increase income, and sustainably reduce poverty.

Mr. Ha Van Duong, Party Cell Secretary and Head of Chieng Ban 1 Village, shared: Chieng Ban 1 Village has 93 households and 380 people, while Chieng Ban 2 has 97 households and 447 people. The two villages have mobilized people to contribute labor and funds to upgrade a 1,700 m long irrigation line and install 86 solar lights, illuminating more than 4 km of rural roads, expected to be completed on December 10, 2025.

Along with infrastructure investment, the work of innovating production methods has been strongly implemented. Farmers are trained, have access to science and technology, convert crops and livestock; develop vegetables, fruit trees and raise livestock for goods. Currently, the two villages intensively cultivate 134 hectares of corn, vegetables, fruit trees; maintain a poultry herd of over 3,700 heads, a livestock herd of over 800 heads; there are two effectively operating cooperatives, linking to consume products for people. The average income in 2025 will reach 50 million VND/person, the poverty rate in Chieng Ban 1 will be 8.6%, Chieng Ban 2 will be 4.1%; 100% of households have televisions and motorbikes.

Chieng Ban 2 Cooperative, established in August 2025 with 12 members, charter capital of 700 million VND, specializes in producing seasonal vegetables. Mr. Vi Van Hai, Director of the Cooperative, shared: Previously, people produced on a small scale, depending on traders, so prices were forced down. Therefore, I encouraged households to establish cooperatives to create stable output and increase product value. Currently, the Cooperative grows squash, beans, tomatoes, cucumbers and cooperates with 140 households in two villages to purchase and consume products, supplying to wholesale markets in Hai Phong, Bac Ninh, and Hanoi . On average, each month the Cooperative supplies more than 20 tons of vegetables, earning over 100 million VND after expenses.

The movement "When drinking water, remember its source" is widely maintained. People in the two villages contributed nearly 200 working days to support policy families on July 27, and gave 29 gifts worth more than 11 million VND. Cultural, artistic and sports activities are vibrant; each village maintains an art troupe, soccer and volleyball teams, and exchanges on holidays, New Year and great solidarity days. The village cultural house is a community activity center, where many activities to unite the people take place. Education, health care, population and digital transformation are focused on. 100% of children go to school at the right age, and do not drop out. In the 2024-2025 school year, the two villages will have 18 excellent students at the school level, 4 students passing university entrance exams, 6 students passing college entrance exams...

The security force of Chieng Ban 1 village supports people in handling administrative procedures on VNeID.

Environmental protection awareness has been significantly improved: 100% of households participate in cleaning village roads and alleys; collect and treat waste according to regulations; 70% of households have 4 sanitary facilities; 100% of households use clean water. People actively plant trees, tidy up gardens - ponds - barns, limit the use of disposable plastic products, creating a clean and beautiful landscape. Cultural lifestyle in weddings and funerals is implemented according to village covenants; 100% of households comply with policies and laws.

Mr. Cao Xuan Dung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Chieng Hac commune, said: The resolution of the commune Party Congress sets the target that by 2030, the commune will meet the new rural standards, 14 villages will meet the standards, of which 50% will be model villages. The commune has reviewed and evaluated Chieng Ban 1 and Chieng Ban 2 villages as having favorable conditions to develop model new rural villages. The commune continues to mobilize people to improve infrastructure; develop effective economic models, and soon achieve the set goals.

With steady steps, Chieng Ban 1 and Chieng Ban 2 strive to become model new rural villages by 2026, providing quality living space, spreading the spirit of solidarity and will to rise in the community, creating a foundation for the two villages to continue to develop sustainably, becoming a bright spot of Chieng Hac commune.
