Welcoming us from the beginning of the village, walking on the concrete road decorated with national flags and colorful pennants, Mrs. Sa Thi Thuong, Party Cell Secretary, Head of Un village, informed: Un village currently has 170 households with 667 people, with 4 ethnic groups: Muong, Thai, Kinh and Mong living together. Previously, the village was very poor, the roads were all dirt roads, muddy in the rainy season, and water for daily life had to be carried in cans from the stream. Thanks to the national target program on new rural construction, the village has concrete roads, electricity, and clean water. People in the village are supported to develop the economy , and their lives are increasingly improved. The average income per capita reaches 45 million VND/year; the poverty rate of the village is 25%.
With the motto "People do, State supports", the village road has been concreted with a total length of more than 8 km. Of which, people contributed over 1 billion VND, donated more than 10,000 m² of land, and more than 700 working days. The State budget supported over 8 billion VND to buy materials, cement... The road is clear, goods circulate smoothly, and people's business has also improved. Mrs. Dinh Thi Pang happily said: "Before, it was difficult to travel, now there is a concrete road, everyone is happy. Traveling and trading are easier, agricultural products sell at a good price, and life is less difficult."

The economy of Un village is changing strongly. People are currently growing more than 70 hectares of mahogany and teak trees, and more than 25 hectares of fruit trees. Livestock farming is developing towards commodities with nearly 1,100 buffaloes and cows; more than 3,500 poultry of all kinds. Along with that, more than 600 hectares of forest are assigned to the community and households for strict management and protection, and people are always aware of protecting the forest. Every year, Un village is paid over 60 million VND for forest environmental services. This source of income helps people have more funds to repair internal roads, cultural houses, buy seedlings, etc.
Visiting Mr. Mui Van Sung, who is jokingly called "a multi-skilled farmer" by the locals, we clearly felt his diligence and eagerness to learn. Mr. Sung's comprehensive economic model currently has more than 400 longan and grapefruit trees that are being harvested; he raises 12 breeding cows, selling an average of 4-5 cows each year. In addition, he also grows 3 hectares of teak; cultivates nearly 2,000 m² of rice fields and maintains a 100 m² fish pond... The comprehensive economic model brings his family an average income of more than 150 million VND per year. Taking us to visit the garden, Mr. Sung confided: "My family used to be very poor, now we have food and savings thanks to hard work and learning. With the support of the State, our people have to try harder, only then can we improve."

Along with economic development, the cultural life of the Un people is also increasingly rich. In the evenings, the village cultural house is bustling with music. The village art troupe maintains more than 10 members, is the core in community activities, especially on festivals, Tet or Great Unity Day. Ms. Quach Thi Thao, the team leader, shared: The team practices regularly every week. We sing songs praising the innovative homeland, dance traditional dances of the Muong and Thai ethnic groups. The movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" has spread widely, contributing to changing the thinking and working methods of the people, making the villagers more united and attached. Up to now, the village has 127/170 households achieving the title of cultural family, accounting for nearly 75%; 100% of children are of school age...
Ban Un is changing day by day. That improvement comes from the investment resources of the State and the will, belief and hands of the people creating the new rural appearance.
