Chieng An Ward coordinates training in organic agricultural production, improving techniques and agricultural product value for cooperatives and households.

As one of the typical examples of Chieng An ward, Chieng Xet Agricultural Cooperative, Tong Xet village, has become a bright spot in effective production linkage. Mr. Quang Van Dien, Director of the Cooperative, shared: The Cooperative was established in 2019 with 12 members, planting and caring for more than 40 hectares of coffee mixed with plum and apricot. In the early days, capital was low, techniques were limited, products were difficult to sell, prices were unstable..., but the members still persevered in the garden, determined to innovate their thinking and ways of doing things and were successful.

In 2023, Chieng Xet Agricultural Cooperative signed a cooperation agreement with Bich Thao Coffee Cooperative, participating deeply in the value chain from production, processing to consumption. The coffee beans are even, delicious, and highly appreciated by the market. In the 2023 crop, the Cooperative provided 10 tons of coffee beans; by the 2024-2025 crop, this number increased to 40 tons of specialty coffee beans, bringing an average income of 400 million VND/year for each member. In 2024, the Cooperative purchased a milling machine, installed a greenhouse, a temperature-controlled drying system, and applied the "honey" coffee processing technique - a new product line favored by the market, with a value 2-3 times higher than regular coffee. The Cooperative's sugar-soaked apricots were also recognized as 3-star OCOP in 2023, quickly winning the hearts of consumers. In addition, the Cooperative focuses on packaging design, product models, codes, barcodes for traceability, promotion at fairs, exhibitions and on e-commerce platforms.

The cooperative's business activities create jobs for more than 30 seasonal workers, with an income of 8-10 million VND/month. Mr. Quang Van Dung, a member of the Chieng Xet Agricultural Cooperative, happily said: Previously, coffee was mainly sold fresh, with unstable prices. In the past 3 years, thanks to the cooperative's technical guidance and product consumption, income has improved significantly. Everyone wants to switch to organic coffee to increase its value.

Along with Chieng Xet Agricultural Cooperative, An Phu Agricultural Cooperative is also gradually asserting its role in developing the local collective economy . From 10 initial members, after 6 years of establishment, the Cooperative has grown to 18 members and linked production with 26 households in neighboring localities to grow 40 hectares of fruit trees according to VietGAP standards, including: Plum, dragon fruit, custard apple... Mr. Quang Van Chung, Director of the Cooperative, informed: When it was first established, the Cooperative was supported by the local government to build a safe production model according to VietGAP standards, supporting packaging, labels and technical training. Each year, the Cooperative produces about 500 tons of various fruits, supplying to safe vegetable, root and fruit stores in the province and wholesale markets in neighboring provinces... The average income of each member is about 200 million VND/year.

Currently, there are 5 effective agricultural cooperatives in the ward. In addition, there are 2 professional farmer associations for processing specialty coffee and raising pigs. The cooperatives also support each other in terms of techniques, seed sources, output and product promotion, and are also a place for people to visit and learn from experiences. The 1st Congress of the Chieng An Ward Party Committee, term 2025-2030, sets the goal of developing agriculture and forestry in the direction of applying high technology to production; focusing on building effective cooperatives and cooperative groups, linking production with the market, increasing the value of agricultural products and people's income...

Mr. Nghiem Van Tuan, Chairman of the Ward People's Committee, said: The Ward promotes the dissemination of the 2012 Law on Cooperatives and new guiding decrees; supports the establishment of cooperatives and cooperative groups in the fields of agriculture, services, and tourism . At the same time, mobilizes preferential capital sources, supports loans and seedlings to develop economic models. Coordinates with specialized agencies to organize technical training, guide livestock farming, disease prevention, connect cooperatives with enterprises to consume products and support digital transformation, train management skills, and market products through e-commerce platforms.

Cooperatives in Chieng An ward are gradually asserting their important role in agricultural development and local economy. Not only contributing to stabilizing people's lives and increasing their income, cooperatives also promote innovation in production thinking, improve management capacity and build a unique agricultural value chain. With the right direction, cooperatives will continue to be an important driving force, contributing to strengthening community solidarity and sustainable development of the locality.
