On the afternoon of August 1, within the framework of the Vietnam - Korea Festival in Da Nang city in 2025, the City People's Committee organized the Meeting with Korea conference in Da Nang .
Attending the program were Minister Counselor and Consul General of the Korean Embassy in Vietnam Chang Ho-seung, Vice Chairman of the City People's Council Doan Ngoc Hung Anh and Korean localities and representatives of Da Nang departments and branches.
Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the City People's Council Doan Ngoc Hung Anh said that the diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Korea were officially established on December 22, 1992. Since then, the relationship between the two countries has developed strongly, deepened and become a "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership". In line with that flow, Da Nang city has proactively and actively promoted cooperation with Korean partners and localities in many fields, gradually becoming a bright spot on the local cooperation map between Vietnam and Korea.
Currently, Da Nang only owns modern transport and logistics infrastructure with 3 deep-water seaports, 2 international airports, and Nam Giang international border gate. The Government's decision to establish an International Financial Center in Da Nang opens up opportunities for the city to become a strategic destination for global capital flows, multinational corporations, large investors, and prestigious financial institutions.
These are the potentials for the sustainable development of the city in the new era, the lever in attracting investment and development cooperation, especially with Da Nang. Da Nang identifies Korea as one of the leading strategic partners based on a solid foundation of cooperation and similarities in development vision.
With a spirit of openness, proactiveness and determination to create a favorable investment environment and simplify administrative procedures, the city government and people are ready to accompany Korean localities, businesses and organizations on the journey of cooperation and sustainable development.
The city is ready to be a bridge for Korean organizations and businesses to find suitable partners, expand cooperation networks and maximize the market potential of the Central region of Vietnam.
Minister Counselor and Consul General of the Korean Embassy in Vietnam Chang Ho-seung said that Da Nang is expected to become a key growth engine of Vietnam in many areas such as economy, trade, logistics and tourism.
The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Vietnam and the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Da Nang will continue to provide full support to ensure that the friendly cooperation between the local governments of the two countries becomes a more solid foundation for the development of Korea-Vietnam cooperation; and promote the cooperation between Da Nang city and the local governments of Korea to become more and more vibrant.
At the Meeting with Korea in Da Nang, localities, Korean partners and representatives of Da Nang departments and branches discussed and exchanged on strengthening bilateral cooperation between Da Nang and Korean localities; orientations for promoting cooperation in investment, trade, science and technology, high-quality tourism and high-tech agriculture - areas that can become long-term development drivers and harmonize interests for both Da Nang and Korea in the new era.
