On April 19, Hai Phong City organized a meeting with relatives of martyrs and soldiers of Dien Bien on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024).
Speaking at the meeting, on behalf of the City Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Mr. Le Tien Chau - Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee, expressed his deep gratitude for the merits and contributions of heroes, martyrs, people with meritorious services to the revolution in general and especially the 2,496 heroes, martyrs, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, veterans, youth volunteers, and frontline laborers who are the children of Hai Phong who directly participated in creating the Dien Bien Phu Victory "Resounding throughout the five continents, shaking the world".

On this occasion, representatives of the leaders of the City Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Phong City presented gifts to encourage and express gratitude to the soldiers and relatives of Dien Bien martyrs.
Previously, on the occasion of the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, Hai Phong City People's Committee issued Plan 93/KH-UBND. Accordingly, in order to promote the tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source", remember and honor the great contributions of the heroic martyrs and soldiers of Dien Bien, Hai Phong City presented gifts to 647 people with a gift value of 2,000,000 VND/person, along with some gifts in kind. The total cost of the gifts was more than 1.3 billion VND.
Hai Phong City People's Committee requested the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of the City to guide districts to publicize gift-giving policies according to regulations, and to implement gift-giving activities to ensure practicality, to the right recipients, in a complete and timely manner .
