Prices stabilize after wage increase

From July 1, the official basic salary was adjusted to increase from 1.8 million VND to 2.34 million VND/month, pensions were also adjusted to increase by 15%, and regional minimum wages increased by 6%. This created excitement for officials, civil servants, public employees, and workers. When the salary was adjusted to increase, many people expressed concern about the increase in commodity prices. According to the survey, up to now, commodity prices are still stable.

After Decree No. 73/2024 of the Government on the basic salary and bonus regime for cadres, civil servants, public employees and armed forces officially took effect, many people were worried that prices would increase like some previous salary increases.

Prices of goods remain stable after July 1 salary increase

However, currently at Ha Tinh city market, items such as food, fresh seafood, household goods, fruits... have not changed in price. Specifically, the price of pork is still at 100-110 thousand VND/kg, beef from 150-220 thousand VND/kg, rice from 14-16 thousand VND/kg depending on the type.

At convenience stores and supermarkets in the province, after the salary increase, trading activities have remained stable, there has been no speculation or hoarding, and prices of essential goods have remained almost unchanged.

Only the prices of some food items increased slightly by 5-10% due to the influence of weather factors or off-season harvests... Prices are stable, helping people feel more secure and excited after the salary increase.

There have been many times when wages have increased, and prices of goods have increased accordingly. And this is the highest wage increase in history, so people are worried that prices will increase accordingly.

Faced with this reality, authorities are stepping up the implementation of price management and control, market stabilization, and strictly handling cases of taking advantage of wage increases to unreasonably increase prices.

The salary increase policy is a great joy for millions of cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers nationwide in general and Ha Tinh in particular, demonstrating the Party and State's concern for the lives of workers.

To make the salary increase truly meaningful, preventing inflation and not letting commodity prices escalate is something that needs to continue./.
