Family takes Chau Hai My to her resting place

Family members held a funeral for Hong Kong actress Zhou Haimei, four months after her death.

On April 18th, Zhou Haimei's mother sent a letter to fans, posted on the artist management company's Weibo account. She wrote: "Haimei's new home is in Beijing, and the cemetery is in Changping District. My family searched many locations in both Hong Kong and Beijing, and felt this new home was the most suitable."

According to the artist's mother, during her lifetime, Zhou Haimei loved Beijing and left Hong Kong to live and work there for over 20 years. She also spent her final days there.

The mother said she kept all of Chau Hoi My's social media accounts, including her pet's account, so fans could access them if they missed the actress. She thanked Hoi My's friends for their encouragement and for helping the family through this tragic and difficult time.

Chow Hoi-mei passed away suddenly in December 2023 at her home, at the age of 57. According to St Headline , the first person to discover Hoi-mei in a coma was an associate of the actress. That morning, this person found Hoi-mei lying unconscious on the floor and took her to the hospital.

All of Zhou Haimei's assets and real estate were inherited by the actress's mother. According to HK01 , the star left behind assets worth over 15 million USD.

Chow Hoi-mei entered the entertainment industry in 1985 after competing in Miss Hong Kong, achieving fame through numerous works such as *The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber* (1994), *The Last Emperor* , *The Unforgiving*, *Heaven and Earth*, *Riot at Guangchang Long*, *The Empress of China*, and *Ashes of Love*. Many Asian audiences called Hoi-mei the "dream girl" of her time.

In 1999, Zhou Haimei dated a businessman surnamed Wu, but they broke up after the actress was diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus and had to undergo treatment for six months. In the early 2000s, Haimei dated an architect seven years younger than her, but they broke up in 2015 because the actress did not want to get married. Since then, Zhou Haimei has not publicly dated anyone.
