On November 5, the Department of Education and Training of Gia Lai province issued a document on proactively letting students stay home from school to prevent and avoid storm No. 13 (Kalmaegi storm).
Accordingly, the Department of Education and Training has requested schools in 58 communes and wards in the eastern part of Gia Lai province (formerly Binh Dinh province) to let students stay home from the afternoon of November 5 to the end of November 7 to avoid storms. For 77 communes and wards in the western part of Gia Lai province (formerly Gia Lai province), it is necessary to monitor the storm situation and flexibly let students stay home if the weather becomes complicated.
During the school break, school principals must closely monitor weather developments and coordinate with local authorities to proactively use school facilities as safe evacuation sites when necessary. At the same time, report daily situations to the Department of Education and Training for synthesis and submission to the Provincial People's Committee and the Ministry of Education and Training .

After the storm, units need to urgently overcome the consequences, clean up the environment, ensure school safety, prevent epidemics and stabilize teaching and learning order, so as not to affect the 2025-2026 school year plan.
The recommendation of the Department of Education and Training was made in the context that the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting warned that storm No. 13 is approaching the mainland. People and parents need to closely monitor official information, proactively prevent and not be subjective about the storm's developments to ensure the safety of students and the community.
