Accelerate after merger, do not slow down social security
Immediately after the official merger on July 1, Gia Lai province prioritized promoting the program of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses - one of the key tasks of social security. Although the organizational structure is still being consolidated, the locality has maintained progress with strong participation from the province to the grassroots.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Gia Lai, before the merger, Binh Dinh province (old) had completed the plan to support 4,411 households (2,531 newly built houses, 1,880 repaired houses), reaching the target 7 months ahead of schedule. Notably, the group of meritorious people and relatives of martyrs who received support accounted for more than 50% (2,224 households). This locality proactively advanced 106 billion VND from the budget for timely implementation, without waiting for central capital.
As of June 21, in Gia Lai province (old), the whole province has started construction on 8,006 houses, reaching 98.84% of the plan. Of these, 6,832 houses have been completed and handed over, reaching 84.35%.
Within 1 month, as of today, July 22, in Gia Lai province (old), 8,059 houses have been started, reaching 99.49% of the plan and 7,094 houses have been completed. The total number of households supported is 8,155, including 6,562 newly built households and 1,593 repaired households.
Localities with a large number of households in need of support such as Ia Hru (419 houses), Ia Le (281 houses), Ia Khuol (262 houses), Phu Tuc (260 houses)... have all completed all targets, creating positive effects in the community.
Close coordination between the government and the people, along with initiatives such as centralized material purchasing, team-based construction, and the "staff stationed" model at the grassroots level, have helped reduce costs, improve project quality, and speed up progress.

Promoting the total strength of the political system
The strong participation of the armed forces was an important factor in helping the program reach its deadline. The provincial police force organized dozens of working groups to support the transportation of materials and the construction of houses in difficult areas. Military units such as the 3rd Corps and the 15th Corps also contributed more than 39,000 working days, directly helping to build hundreds of houses in remote areas, where there was a shortage of both human resources and construction conditions.
In recent days, nearly 200 officers and soldiers of Gia Lai Police Department, divided into 43 teams, have actively supported working days for 148 families who are having difficulty in completing house construction in the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province.
In Ia Boong commune, police officers and soldiers were mobilized to contribute to completing houses for people.
Assigned to complete houses for poor households in Ia Boong commune, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Chinh, Deputy Head of the Religious Security Team, Department of Internal Security, said that in the commune, there are 37 houses at risk of being behind schedule, of which the police force is assigned to complete 14 houses. Police officers and soldiers eat and stay together, and the work is divided equally. For houses with many stages and tasks, comrades from other teams will come to support so that they can complete them on time.
Thanks to the effective implementation of the motto "State supports - people do - community helps", the program in Gia Lai not only helps people have stable housing but also creates a solid foundation for poverty reduction, new rural construction and socio-economic development.
With thousands of houses gradually being completed, the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Gia Lai is a clear demonstration of the effectiveness of strong leadership, flexible and creative approaches, and the spirit of national solidarity after the merger.
