Durian price today August 28: Thai VIP hits peak of 105,000 VND/kg, exports aim for 8 billion USD

On the morning of August 28, the domestic durian market continued to be adjusted. Many areas recorded slight fluctuations in Thai durian prices, of which Dak Lak is holding the highest level of 85,000 - 90,000 VND/kg for type A.

The price of Thai durian grade A fluctuates at 86,000 VND/kg, grade B 66,000 VND/kg and grade C 45,000 VND/kg. Particularly, Thai durian grade A with defective flesh is 58,000 VND/kg, grade B 40,000 VND/kg.

For Ri6, type A is 40,000 - 45,000 VND/kg, type B is 25,000 - 30,000 VND/kg. Ri6 defective rice type A is 32,000 VND/kg, type B is 22,000 VND/kg.

Thai durian grade A is traded at 80,000 - 86,000 VND/kg, grade B 60,000 - 66,000 VND/kg, grade C 40,000 - 46,000 VND/kg. For Thai durian with defective flesh, grade A is 65,000 VND/kg, grade B 52,000 VND/kg, grade C 38,000 VND/kg.

Ri6 type A is about 40,000 VND/kg, type B is 25,000 VND/kg. Ri6 defective rice type A is 28,000 VND/kg, type B is 18,000 VND/kg.

Durian exports grow strongly

According to the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association, from now until November, the durian supply will be abundant, contributing to making the export target of 7.6 billion USD this year feasible, and may even approach the 8 billion USD mark.
In July alone, durian exports brought in 350-400 million USD. In the first 7 months of the year, the total turnover has exceeded 1 billion USD.

Domestic market developments

Domestically, durian prices have increased again over the past week. At the farms, the Monthong variety increased by 15-20% compared to last month, while Ri6 remained stable.

Prices continued to fall earlier this year due to export difficulties. However, since June, the situation has improved thanks to quality control and tighter inspection before products are released to the market.
