Dak Lak province is implementing the program “Guidelines for post-flood production recovery” in heavily damaged areas, taking place from December 3 to 5. The activity focuses on supporting farmers to restore pepper, coffee, durian and many other crops damaged by floods.
In Son Thanh, Duc Binh, Ea Ba, Nam Ka and Krong No communes, experts and technical staff went directly to each garden to guide the process of care, flood treatment and restoration of fallen trees. They also coordinated with enterprises to supply materials to help people quickly overcome initial losses.
The recent storm and flood caused great damage to Dak Lak, with more than 63,000 hectares of annual crops and 19,000 hectares of perennial crops affected. Many areas of key industrial crops such as pepper, coffee, and durian were severely damaged, with total damage estimated at about VND1,500 billion.
Faced with the massive damage, local authorities are mobilizing maximum resources from technology, seeds to materials to help farmers stabilize production soon. However, the recovery process is expected to face many obstacles and it will take more time for farming areas to return to normal.

World pepper prices today
Update on world pepper prices from the International Pepper Association (IPC), at the end of the most recent trading session, IPC listed the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper at 6,985 USD/ton (down 0.06%), and the price of Muntok white pepper at 9,631 USD/ton (down 0.07%).
Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper price was at USD 6,150/ton (down 1.22%). Malaysian ASTA black pepper price was at USD 9,000/ton; the country's ASTA white pepper price reached USD 12,000/ton.
Today, Vietnam black pepper price is traded at 6,500 USD/ton for 500 g/l; 550 g/l at 6,700 USD/ton; white pepper price at 9,250 USD/ton.
According to the International Pepper Community (IPC), global pepper output in 2025 is forecast to reach about 520,000 tons, lower than in 2024. The main reason comes from unusual weather in major growing regions such as Vietnam, Indonesia, India and Brazil. Unseasonal rains, prolonged heat and pest pressure have reduced productivity, while some farmers have reduced their acreage or switched to other crops with more stable efficiency, making it unlikely that global supply will improve in 2025.
However, the IPC is more optimistic about 2026, predicting that production could increase to around 533,000 tonnes if the weather is favorable and replanting programs are implemented in the right direction. The expansion of sustainable farming techniques, improved irrigation systems and enhanced disease control will also contribute to the recovery of production. However, this increase will still be modest and unlikely to create a surplus in the market.
Experts believe that the world pepper market will continue to fluctuate cautiously in the period 2025-2026. The decrease in output in 2025 may create a push for price increases, while the recovery prospect in 2026 depends significantly on climate conditions.
The climate is becoming increasingly unpredictable in the context of global climate change, so the outlook for pepper production remains uncertain. The market is forecast to remain in a delicate balance and will need more time to stabilize.
