At Mi Hong Gold and Gemstone Company, the price of Mi Hong gold at the time of survey listed the price of SJC gold at 76.00 - 76.98 million VND/tael (buy - sell).

SJC gold price at Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited is also traded by the enterprise at 75.50 - 76.98 million VND/tael (buy - sell). Meanwhile, at Bao Tin Manh Hai, it is being traded at 76,000 - 76.98 million VND/tael (buy - sell). Gold price increased by 200,000 VND/tael for buying.

The price of SJC gold bars at the beginning of the week at gold brands continued to stand still at the selling price of 76.98 million VND/tael, while DOJI today had a slight adjustment at the buying price, increasing by 320,000 VND/tael to 75.30 million VND.

From today (June 17), the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development ( Agribank ) and the Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development (BIDV) will launch the utility to register to buy SJC gold bars online on the website.

Time to register to buy gold online on Agribank website is from 9:00 to 15:00 from Monday to Friday every week. Time to pay and receive gold at Agribank's SJC gold bar selling point is from 13:30 to 16:00 on the day of successful registration to buy gold.

The time to register to buy SJC gold bars online at BIDV is from 9:30 to 11:30. The time to pay and receive gold from BIDV is from 13:30 to 16:00 on the same day of successful registration to buy gold.

Previously, on June 12, Vietcombank became the first unit to open online gold bar sales on its website.

World gold price this afternoon June 17, 2024 and chart of world gold price fluctuations in the past 24 hours

According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 2:00 p.m. today, Vietnam time, was at 2,316.77 USD/ounce. The gold price this afternoon decreased by 15.24 USD/ounce compared to the closing price of the trading session. Converted according to the current exchange rate at Vietcombank, the world gold price is about 70,200 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is still 4.78 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.

The world spot gold price stood at 2,316.77 USD/ounce, down more than 15 USD/ounce compared to the closing price of last week's trading session. The precious metal turned down in the first trading session of the week when the greenback was anchored high, accordingly, the US Dollar Index measuring the greenback's fluctuations against a basket of other currencies reached 105.167 points.

Analysts say the precious metal will find it difficult to make a strong breakthrough in the short term, as the market awaits new information on monetary policy meetings of several European countries this week. Gold prices fell after a strong recovery at the end of the week.

Gold Price Forecast

Although gold fell slightly at the beginning of the week, according to Kitco News, most experts and retail investors still maintain an optimistic attitude about the prospects of the precious metal this week.

Gold has ended a three-week losing streak, with the precious metal supported by political uncertainty in Europe and sharp declines in interest rates, said Marc Chandler, CEO at Bannockburn Global Forex.

“Gold has regained momentum following the US jobs data and the announcement by the People’s Bank of China (PBoC) on June 7 to stop buying gold reserves,” said Mr. Chandler.
