Regarding rice, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the current price of IR 50404 rice (fresh) ranges from 5,200 to 5,400 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice (fresh) ranges from 5,500 to 5,600 VND/kg; OM 34 rice (fresh) ranges from 5,200 to 5,400 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice (fresh) ranges from 6,400 to 6,600 VND/kg; and OM 18 rice (fresh) ranges from 6,400 to 6,600 VND/kg, compared to yesterday.
Observations in many localities today indicate that remaining supply is low, trading is weak, and prices remain stable. In Vinh Long, rice trading is slow, with few buyers, and prices are steady. In An Giang , farmers are maintaining high prices, buyers tend to offer lower prices, and new transactions are few.
In Tay Ninh, demand for rice has slowed down, mainly driven by traders with existing contracts, resulting in slow transactions. In Ca Mau , ST 25 rice continues to be offered in good quantities, with little price fluctuation. In Can Tho and Dong Thap, buying and selling activity is low, and prices remain stable.
Similarly, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province and Vietnam Rice, the current prices for export-grade raw rice are as follows: OM 5451 rice ranges from 8,150 to 8,300 VND/kg; Soc Thom rice ranges from 7,500 to 7,600 VND/kg; IR 504 rice ranges from 7,550 to 7,650 VND/kg; CL 555 rice ranges from 7,340 to 7,450 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice ranges from 8,700 to 8,900 VND/kg; OM 380 rice ranges from 7,200 to 7,300 VND/kg; and OM 18 rice ranges from 8,500 to 8,600 VND/kg. Finished IR 504 rice prices fluctuated between 9,500 and 9,700 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Regarding by-products, the prices of these items range from approximately 7,400 to 10,000 VND/kg. Currently, OM 5451 broken rice is priced at 7,400 - 7,500 VND/kg; and rice bran is priced at 9,000 - 10,000 VND/kg.
Observations in various localities today show slow trading activity and little fluctuation in rice prices. In An Giang, both traders and factories are offering rice, but sales are slow, buyers are scarce, and prices remain stable.
In Lap Vo and Sa Dec (Dong Thap province), the supply is consistent, and the prices of all types of rice are relatively stable. In An Cu, Dong Thap province, purchasing power is weak, and rice prices are relatively stable.
At retail markets, the prices of all types of rice remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Currently, Nang Nhen rice is listed highest at 28,000 VND/kg; regular rice fluctuates between 11,000 - 12,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice is 22,000 VND/kg; Thai long-grain fragrant rice fluctuates between 20,000 - 22,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice is at 21,000 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice is 20,000 VND/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice fluctuates between 16,000 - 18,000 VND/kg; common white rice is at 16,000 VND/kg; regular Soc rice fluctuates between 16,000 - 17,000 VND/kg; Soc Thai rice is 20,000 VND/kg; and Japanese rice is 22,000 VND/kg.
On the export market, the price of Vietnamese rice remains stable. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the current price of fragrant rice with 5% broken grains ranges from 420 to 440 USD/ton; 100% broken grains ranges from 314 to 318 USD/ton; and Jasmine rice ranges from 447 to 451 USD/ton.
