The Department of Transport has just submitted a document to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on promulgating ticket prices for public passenger transport services by train on urban railway line No. 1, Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien (metro No. 1).

Metro Line 1 is expected to be operational from early 2025. According to the Department of Transport, preparing operational resources as well as completing relevant legal documents are extremely important during this period. Therefore, issuing passenger transport prices on Metro Line 1 is necessary to prepare for commercial operation as planned.

According to the Department, the purpose of issuing prices is to comply with legal regulations on the construction and issuance of passenger transport prices on urban railways; encourage passengers to access and use urban railways and form the habit of traveling by public transport.

Therefore, the proposal proposes that for customers using cash, the lowest one-way ticket price is 7,000 VND, the highest is 20,000 VND. For customers buying one-way tickets without using cash, the price for Metro Line 1 ranges from 6,000 - 19,000 VND.

For customers who buy tickets by time, a one-day ticket is 40,000 VND (unlimited number of trips per day); a three-day ticket is 90,000 VND, unlimited number of trips per three days.

Regular passengers buy a monthly ticket for 300,000 VND. Monthly ticket price for students is 150,000 VND. The above ticket price includes passenger insurance.
