The 31st Golden Apricot Awards - 2025 expands many award categories

On September 16, the Lao Dong Newspaper officially launched the 31st Mai Vang Award - 2025, continuing to affirm its position as an award deeply associated with Vietnamese cultural and artistic life.

This year, the Golden Apricot Awards expanded its categories, clearly reflecting the flow of creativity and modern tastes. The music industry has made an important adjustment by separating “Most Favorite Song” and “Most Favorite MV”, to ensure fair evaluation between the two independent creative forms. The “Most Favorite Group” category has also been restored after a period of vibrant activities by young music groups.

In the field of theater, the 31st Mai Vang Awards added the category “Most favorite political art performance and program” for the first time. This is a new highlight to honor works that promote ideological values, praise history and evoke national pride. With this change, the theater has a total of 5 categories, demonstrating the spirit of encouraging diverse creativity, while ensuring fairness in honoring artists and creative teams.

Accordingly, the 2025 Mai Vang Awards have a total of 16 categories, spread across four fields: music, theater, cinema - television and programs.

In the music category, the audience will vote for the most popular male singer, female singer, singing group, song and music video . In the stage category, there are categories including male actor, female actor, comedian, stage play, and the new category “Most popular political art show and program”.

In the film and television field, the awards honor the most favorite Actor, Actress, TV Series and Movie. In the program field, the audience will vote for the most favorite MC and TV Program – digital platform.

In addition, the Organizing Committee continues to maintain special awards such as "Lifetime Artist for the Community", "Artist for the Community in 2025", "Outstanding Cultural and Artistic Work in 2025" and adds the award "Art program contributing to honoring Vietnamese cultural identity".

The 31st Golden Apricot Award nomination round takes place from September 16 to November 25, 2025, followed by the voting round from December 10, 2025 to January 22, 2026. Readers can nominate on the electronic newspaper Nguoi Lao Dong (nld.com.vn), the Golden Apricot website (maivang.nld.com.vn) or the Golden Apricot Facebook page.

The Organizing Committee maintains an attractive prize structure for readers to nominate, including the First Prize of 5 million VND, Second Prize of 3 million VND, Third Prize of 2 million VND and 10 Consolation Prizes worth 1 million VND each. The winning ticket is the ticket with the nomination in the voting round list, and at the same time predicts the closest total number of nominations.
