"Hidden corner" behind the famous check-in point Eo Gio Bai Ngang Thanh Hoa

Recently, young people in Thanh Hoa have been "buzzing" with photos of their "luxurious" Check-In at a tourist area called Eo Gio Bai Ngang. According to the reporter's investigation, Eo Gio Bai Ngang is actually an experiential tourist area, located in village 8, Quang Thai commune, Quang Xuong district, Thanh Hoa province.

From the coastal road running through Quang Thai commune, going down to the sea about 200m, the reporter encountered a large gate with the words "Eo Gio Bai Ngang". Continuing to go deeper inside, a large-scale tourist area appeared close to the coast of Quang Thai.

According to observations, this tourist area has a total area of about 1 hectare, has basically been fully invested in construction and welcomes visitors to visit, experience, and Check-In.

Right at the entrance to the tourist area is a sign: “EO GIO BAI NGANG”. According to the listing, the entrance fee is 50,000 VND/person including 1 drink, opening hours are from 7:30 am to 10:00 pm daily. The price for renting a tent to sleep during the day is 400,000 VND/tent, at night it is 700,000 VND/tent. In addition, there are also campfire services, speaker rental, barbecue and drinks.

There are many level 4 houses here built with concrete walls and corrugated iron roofs for business services.

At the time the reporter was there, many tourists were visiting, taking pictures, and using the experience services here. Notably, the owner of this tourist area planted trees and laid out artificial grass close to the sandy shore of the beach for tourists to set up tents to experience business activities. A system of 5 convenient toilets was also installed right on the sandy shore of Quang Thai beach.

An employee here said that Eo Gio Bai Ngang tourist area has been built for nearly a year now and officially opened before the April 30 - May 1, 2023 holiday. During the holiday, on average, this tourist area welcomes nearly a thousand visitors every day, mainly young people coming to visit, experience, and check-in. Due to the large number of visitors, the road leading to the tourist area is congested, making it difficult for vehicles to move.

Speaking with Nguoi Dua Tin, Mr. Tran Phu Dung - Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Thai Commune, Quang Xuong District, said that Eo Gio Bai Ngang tourist area is owned by an individual residing in the locality and operates under the model of a private business household. This tourist area has an area of about 8,000m2 - 9,000m2. The origin of the land is residential land and perennial garden land of this household and transferred from a number of other households.

According to Mr. Dung, the commune is instructing households to contact the Quang Xuong district economic infrastructure department to complete procedures to obtain a license from the state. This tourist area has not yet converted its land use purpose from residential land, agricultural land to commercial service land, and has not been granted an operating license.

Upon discovery, Quang Thai commune conducted an inspection, made a record of administrative violations of the household arbitrarily changing the status quo, destroying the land, and transferred the file to the People's Committee of Quang Xuong district for punishment because it exceeded its authority. The Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Xuong district issued a decision to fine this individual 27.5 million VND for arbitrarily constructing a project on the beach, changing the status quo, and destroying the land.
